Naval vengence mod Mk2
WIP Prototype version 'Ice' 0.33
History/Backstory
This mod was created off of the basis of a mod i made in 2018 called TXI "Tiark xenoresearch", that added a weapon i called the "Starburst shell", a shell that penetrates a ship and detonates inside.
To fire this shell, i created a simple roof turret, a vanilla style one that looked similar to the old "Roof cannon mod" one from back in the day.
Then, from there i created a two barreled one like in my old NAM "Naval artillery mod" from early 2018 by modifiying said turret.
After copying it a load of times, i created variants such as a smaller cruiser turret one, and a even smaller one.
Eventually, i posted some stuff of the mod to the Stellar assembly discord, and it went from there.
However, the thing that really made this mod possible was the bombers...
Due to already having worked with the "OnDeath" and bullet spawning with the Starburst shell (Then known as AP-ES) i had the idea to attempt to make a "true" fighter.
This resulted in what is in the mod now as the large bomber using this.
This motivated me (And ill tell you now, i have a HUGE lack of motivation) to make this mod somewhat public, although it even now needs more work.
Things are STILL called AP-ES.txt and other things that are the same as other file names copied from cosmoteer itself.
Other than that however, and a lack of accurately updated blueprint sprites for the missiles, this mod is definitely usable.
And in a way, i want to make this mod to fix the mistakes i made in my old mods. (hence calling it Naval Vengence)
NAM had code that was essentially 1-1 with other files even if not copy pasted, and was not done from scratch.
Wheras this, is entirely from scratch or modified from Vanilla stuff or copied from other parts in the mod.
And i dare not even link that old page, for it is the one thing im most embarrased of here on the forums.
Overall, this mod still needs work, however in terms of in game, its able to be uploaded here as a WIP mod.

And a HUGE thanks to everyone on the Stellar Assembly discord's modding channel (including the above two) for motivating me to make this a reality and giving ideas.
Had it not been for them, i doubt this would be here now, instead staying as a private mod for the rest of time only used by my factions on the forums here...
And the modding channel on the cosmoteer discord of course, as although i have not posted there in ages nor really check it all the time,
the search function saved me a huge amount of time on things not posted about here on the forums.
And... All of the people that downloaded and supported NAM... I hate it now, its a bad mod i made, but the support that got made this happen, even if this gets forgotten i will always thank those that helped back then.
My experience there taught me a lot of what to do and what not to do, and that really has made this mod the best it can be, even if that is probably not that great.
What does this mod add?
This mod adds four sizes of turret, with numerous different variants including Torpedo launchers, mine launchers, and two PD weapons.
This mod also adds "Bombers" that fly over enemy ships and drop bombs at certain intervals.
Along with two missile hatches and some shields.
Roof Cannons
The roof cannons in this mod come in three sizes:
Secondary guns [6x6]
Cruiser calibre guns [8x8]
Main guns [12x12]
These guns act differently although mainly similar in most aspects.
They either fire HE shells or AP/Railgun shells
Missiles
There are currently two missiles in the mod.
A roof mounted Cruise missile launcher and a floor mounted bomb launcher.
Both are extremely powerful, but cruise missiles are easily shot down by even vanilla PD.
PD and Flak
The Point defence in this mod comes in two types, along with one mounted on a main gun turret.
Both types fire either Gatling gun PD shots like usual, or a flak shell.
Railguns
As previously mentioned, this mod includes AP Railgun turrets, although they are best used as a supportive weapon.
Fighters
Fighters chase after bombers and missiles and shoot at them with guns and their own missiles.
Bombers
The bombers in this mod are essentially glorified projectiles that drop more missiles as they fly, however this makes them invunerable to normal shells.
This makes them perfect for attacking targets from afar, and can deal massive damage in a short space of time, however they need a lot of space to launch, and need to be manually launched via the ship commands.
Horns
This mod also adds ship horns, there are five variants and all cost the same.
Descriptions for them will be added later.
To use them, place one on a ship and click the Horn on/off toggle on the ship commands screen.
Some loop better than others, unfortunately there is little i can do to make them loop better without a stupid amount of time spent editing the audio files.
All of them come from WoWs.
Shields and Shield power generators
Shields are 4x1 and come in a straight and curved L/R variant.
To use the 2x1 power generators simply place them next to the shield, and it will power any ajacent parts.
Possibly in the future i may limit the power generators to only power the shields due to other mods already adding automated power in ways far better than this.
What else will I add to this mod?
Probably nothing people suggest unlike last time.
I apologize in advance, however IRL issues and other things mean that anything suggested would likely not get made for MONTHS.
This is due to a personal lack of motivation, many of the parts here in this mod where made over a HUGE period of time and only because i wanted to make them.
Requested parts have a possibility to not be something id want to work on, and im sorry for that.
However!
Please request things regardless!
I might just like the suggestion enough to work on it with as much effort as i usually do, and so please suggest things anyway!
THIS MOD IS VERY WIP, so expect many bugs
Although very much functional, certain aspects to this mod are still very work in progress.
This also means that certain parts are overpowered, such as the "revolver" autocannons and the shields.
However overall it should be balanced enough to play against other mods without destroying them entirely with 0 effort put into design and just using a single turret.
The Fighters/Bombers are also extremely overpowered against normal vanilla PD, and can drop bombs inside enemy ships if timed correctly by chance.
However the main balancing force in this mod is size.
Due to the size of the weapons, you will only be able to fit a few onto a small ship, and due to their cost they will be hard to replace in BH.
Crew interaction at the moment is very minimal, however this might change in the future.

Note: The RADAR in this mod is purely for use with the bombers and gives a 5km view range.
Please refrain from using this for anything other than testing/carriers until i can give it some actual drawbacks.
Oh, this mod also includes some "locked" WIP stuff, so don't be confused if you find something that you cant usually place that has missing stuff, Random R6S Tachanka refrences, ect...
