well i got some points to improvise...
Jared Justified reasons for going to war:
(all must be confirmed by both parties)
-Attacks on shipping routs
-Attack on civilian and military outposts
-Colonization of locally controlled space unless allowed by native controller
-Sudden military presence of ships withing or near border of a faction (3 warning rule)
-Supporting a rebelling population
this is a bit too standardized, for example,a faction may fear its closest allies to have weakened to such a state that it would not only led to the allied faction's downfall, but also their own downfall,in which they can choose to "millitary occupy" the unstable territories so "both factions gain benefits" (but of course, its just a war with the defeating side being a subordianate and under the control of the other faction,as so to "stablised things")(which im trying to do rn,hint hint 😉 )
using other reasons can often mask your true intentions, and thats what diplomacy and war usually starts with, like IRL the US when invading Afghanistan,it would not say "cuz you got the oil boi",but rather the US would say "there is intelligence reporting that you may or may not have access to mass destructive weaponary",thus providing the offending side a completely reasonable and morally acceptable reason for engaging into a war, instead of low-leveled caveman-type "i want your stuff,so i come to kill you"
Jared -No calling allies if opponent has none, this includes if opponent has one allie your are only allowed to bring one in
-No ships over the classification of Capital ships are to be used (battleships and Carriers, and No super weapons or use of military ships against civilian populations)
like what was previously mentioned,so ima not get repetitive here
Jared -No attack will be used against civilian population on either side
what is civilian population? does a "civilian",taking out a gun capable to harm a soldier,be considered as a civilian? how about a hundred of "civilians" with guns? how about a whole resisting force consist of thousand of "civilians"? the word "civilian" is often overused by the defending side, but as always, using the right reason, and taking premptive measures can bypass such regulations (i once gave a reason to bypass such restriction in the Stellar Assembly discord, those who are interested can go take a look)
Jared End of war:
At the end of war all parties must be present to make the agreements, if there is a disagreement on certain penalties then other factions that are to not be bias (max 3) will debate if the penalties should be passed.
Penalties:
- Attacking civilian ships
- Use of Super weapons
this either relies on a peacekeeping party (like the IRL UN),or an alliance formed by several factions with equal power (like the Stellar Assembly),if its a 1v1 of factions, why would you set up peace treaties instead of occupying all enemy territory when you have clearly win the war? and why would you bother giving out warnings when you can just declare war once again and punish these "obviously weaker" scrubs with your "almighty fleet"? (or whatever thing that is the sole deciding factor to your success)
just my thoughts when i suddenly wake up in the middle of the night ;P
