RedAndCosmoteer honestly it was something to that effect ha ha! But I'm putting in the Arena, people already know some cheesy ships are in there so I figured they should be expecting something like that

      Meiko Did not pass. That ships really only needs 2 ammo factories to supply all of those cannons. It was also woefully under gunned compared to the other ships in its price range. Also how you posted the ship would not let me drag drop it into cosmoteer so I had to recreated it to test it. If you keep trying to attach the image using the attach button it will eventually attach on the 2nd or 3rd time.

        And outgunned? I tested the thing myself ai vs ai. And it destroyed almost all of the enemy ships.
        Did you use my second verison the one I posted in you main thread was not optimised. I meant the one in this thread, the one with 2 Ion Bolts. If it was this version you tested I cannot understand how you tell me its beeing outgunned. I tested it myself against ships its price class (from gif and not gif) and it beat 9/10 of them.

          Meiko you ships was priced around 180k right? The tier you probably tested your ship in was the teir with a max of ~175k so you were bumped up a tier that has a max of ~250k if you wanted to get in a tier better suited tier you need to drop around 10k in cost.

          ImTired The ships currently in GiF are actually really bad I'm updating them to be much, much better. The ship Meiko submitted was horribly inefficient. It has 5 small cannons and 5 ammo factories and the proper ratio for those cannons are 6 cannons to 2 ammo factories.

          1 Small cannon needs 1 ammo factory and 1 shield needs 1 reactor.
          Also what Cost = what tier?

          That's incorrect. That's how it works for large cannons. If placed in an efficient way 1 factory can support 2-3 small cannons.

            @Northerner Yo question, whats the highest price tier atm? the largest ship currently in the game is around 15/16M right? can ships of around that price tier be submitted as well?

            Meiko Hmm, let me take a look. It should at least be good for most of the time. Non stop firing is not always needed.

              Meiko I can't open the ship in Cosmoteer. Are you perhaps playing on one of the test versions? If not can you reupload it?

                This is not even as good as it could be, but these four cannons heave a steady rate of fire for quite some time. When the enemy gets shortly out of range, the fire rate will be restored afterwards.

                  I figured. I have some simmilar designs but my problem is the crew is too busy to reload to restore the shield which leads to the crew then restoring only the shield and not reloading. The end of this circle is nobody does anything right.
                  How much crew is enough?

                    In that case you could try to separate weapons and defense systems. 2 shields can run on one nearby reactor if crew is always available to refill it. This way you could have crew dedicated to the weapons, and crew dedicated to shields. Thrusters and other things are powered by the closest system.

                    One major flaw with this plan: you would have to redesign most of the ship if you want to do that.
