Dylan: "That's all the information I know of without getting into technical details. Oh, but I have heard from pilots to keep an eye out for glinting of ship windows. I've heard that's a good way to find a ship in distress. Good luck!"

Dylan: "Oh, and I almost forgot, will you be needing a ship, or will your own suffice? We have a ship on standby in the hanger for situations like these."

...a few days after the reward has been placed for the acquisition of the blackbox, a Novasurfer from Tetran Co., apparently a modded model considering the normal ones weren´t capable of ftl travel, jumped into proximity of colony Xivia, it sent a hail and headed down into the atmosphere, looking for a landing spot somewhere in range of the colony...

Drakador_Chaos The colony had a single landing pad, capable of handling a small freighter, which was currently occupied by a small craft. An automated flight control tower broadcasted a robotic message.

COLONY XIVIA to UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL. Please report intentions.

(presuming you wanted to land)

COLONY XIVIA to UNIDENTIFIED VESSEL please maintain altitude. Standby for permission to land.

If you looked carefully enough, a group of workers in high visibility vests was standing in a circle, presumably having break time, before a man walks towards them, points to the ship on the landing pad, before signing them to get up. The group then forms around the landed craft and begins wheeling it off the pad.

...the craft headed to landing pad one and one of it´s doors opened, out of it came a man that was likely in his 40´s judging from his looks a mercenary, he went towards the landing personnel...
"So, where do I head for this Blackbox Job?"

Drakador_Chaos The ground workers had resumed their break time, and where happily chatting with each other leaning over some crates. The "colony" is extremely young, so the only permanent structure was the landing pad. Most of the buildings where sort of like large tents, held up by sturdy metal framework. The area seemed pretty sparse, but with a good solid look through the plastic windows, you could see various workers inside the buildings. Some were chefs preparing food for the other colonists, some where operating workshop machinery to make parts for equipment. Others where relaxing in front of a lounge tv, and others where dead asleep, presumably having done a night shift. Luckily, a signpost had been resurrected off the side of the launch pad, pointing in various directions, including towards a reception building.

...the man follows the signs directions and heads towards the reception area, while passively looking around the place a bit as he walked through the colony...

Drakador_Chaos RedAndCosmoteer The colony reception was a short way from the landing pack. The reception itself was fairly similar to the other buildings, air proof tarp layered over a steel frame. Inside was a make ship reception area, with a few plastic bench seats, tables and a receptionist working from a laptop, connected to a power cord snaking to another room further back. She was focused on typing a message on her laptop, and didn't notice the mercs arrival. Suddenly, a dark haired man and a group of other personal burst out one of the flaps behind the receptionist, talking about a mission briefing of some description.

"Oh, but I have heard from pilots to keep an eye out for glinting of ship windows. I've heard that's a good way to find a ship in distress. Oh, and I almost forgot, will you be needing a ship, or will your own suffice? We have a ship on standby in the hanger for situations like these."

The group continued out of the reception area into the open, which gained the receptionists attention, which quickly darted to the mercenary. The receptionist stopped typing, slowly closed the laptop, and pushed it aside.

Receptionist: Erm, can I help you?

She seemed a little intimidated

jbox1 (Drakador_Chaos) The men burst out of the room, with Dylan, walking with him. Then you heard one of them speaking... "Well, we do have our own ship. It has a flak cannon, and eight medium laser weapons. I think we should be good for the journey, and we'll gain new information about this region plus some good science ™." The officers nodded...

...the man looked after the other group and frowned for a moment before he simply simply shrugged and turned towards the receptionist...
"I´m here for that blackbox job."
...he didn´t seem too talkative...

RedAndCosmoteer Dylan: Perfect! I'm glad to have you working here. I'll get you permission for flight clearance as soon as we... "

Dylan notices the different ship parked on the landing pads

Dylan: Gaaah, I don't think we can move that one off the pad. Is your ship equipped for takeoff without ground support?"

(I'll just guess that's yes)

Dylan: "that will have to suffice for now. I'll get this other ship sorted out in the mean time. Good luck."

Drakador_Chaos "Oh, that?"

"yes, yes, that job is available. Erm, I just need you to sign this form"

It was a waiver. Something along the lines of taking no responsibility for potential death or serious injury.

Suddenly, free black haired man from before entered the reception again.

"Allright, who thought it was a good idea to plant their bloody tank for a ship on the landing pad? Come on, who did it?"

"I swear, as soon as the next government grant arrives, I'm spending it on a second landing pad"

jbox1 (They are in orbit, they arrived by shuttle.)

The lead man nodded, and then walked back to the shuttle. Small engines on the bottom/ventral side of the shuttle lit up and pushed the ship off the ground, headed for the ship's ONLY docking bay, which docked.

The Captain walked from the airlock straight to the bridge, taking a left and walking towards the lift to the bridge which transported him to the top, and then he sat on his chair...

"Set a course, Azimuth 178 Elevation 15 degrees. Form warp bubble on my mark..." He ordered his officers, and looked at interstellar space for a few moments, before he commanded... "Engage."

In a moment, so fast that nobody in orbit got an opportunity to look, the light around the ship was bent and the ship moves at hundreds of times the speed of light... Well, it didn't move, it just moved the space around it to make sure the ship gets there faster than any fusion drive can get there...

In minutes, the ship arrived at the outer edge of the Xivia Theta system, and the usual eight waves sweep over every celestial body in the system plus a few scanning beams, this time, directed to the Asteroid Field...

When he was finished he turned towards the man...

"You can now enter system Xivia Theta, and start the mission"
