United Terran Nations (My First Faction)
- Edited
nice faction overall...but...
Bochinator The United Terran Nation, or UTN, is an empire of humans with Earth as its capital.
this seems kinda...familiar
Bochinator an empire of humans with Earth as its capital
this especially
Bochinator
is this faction going to use mods in the future or be vanilla only faction
- Edited
dafeeeeeeeeeesh Vanilla only, i guess. Idk.
thebuilder You do know that
A: most factions here are Empires and
B: most sci-fi movies, books, tv ect that have humans have Earth as the Human capital as thats the birth place of the Human race, so if your thinking that somehow this person is coping you then your also coping other Sci-fi movies and films
Jared More of the Name, it's like so: earthen=terran empire=nation united stays the same.

thebuilder
well
A: Earthian is not a word, Terran is.
B: Empire is another word thats beginning to get over used such as United, however he may say United Nations due to Over X amount of Time all the Nations of Earth United under one banner creating the United Terran Nations, cause saying Nations would be talking about Humanity as a whole instead of the one singular nation that conquered earth.
C: you may just be paranoid due to the recent copie cats

Jared Earthen, i said earthen, and C....probs

thebuilder you added that in latter so i didnt see it lol
Jared (it was like 2 secs XD) (anyways, cya)
I know, but that's how this faction works; they rely on heavy shielding, so they need more reactors. To keep the ships compact, the reactors are clustered together.
dafeeeeeeeeeesh This one and two others only use the massive ships mod. I have a fourth faction that uses a mod, but I won't say which one.
Bochinator
you only have one faction though

Hey @Bochinator, I'd like to offer a bit of constructive criticism.
Having all of your reactor cores clustered together like that isn't a very effective. Crew will group to the closest one, ignoring the others. Try spreading them out a bit, putting them closer to the systems that need them. The same goes for crew quarters, as crew will return to them if they have nothing else to do. One of my earlier ship designs put all of the reactors in the center of the ship, and if it were a Bounty Hunter enemy, it would be wiped out almost instantly. I see this mostly on your smaller ships, but larger ships like the Bruiser and the Block also seem to suffer from this problem. A good rule-of-thumb to go by is making sure that your reactors are at least 4 blocks apart. Granted, I myself break this rule quite often, but it prevent huge chain reactions of reactors blowing each other up.
Another thing that could help is to flush out the hull of your ships. Take, for instance, the Longbow. You could flush out the shields, boost engines and PD to make them more effective. Also, you could make the Railgun nozzles flush with the shields up top and maybe fit another accelerator.
Hope this helps!
EDIT: Another tip I learned off the forums is that you don't need the power bar to be at the recommended point. Halfway between the minimum and recommended is completely fine.
I'm sort of new to cosmotteer too... although i have been playing for a while and i have already deleted ALL my ships TWICE... My first ships were sort of like this (not as good) but EVENTUALLY i managed to make a ship that i didn't scrap immediately...(with the help of mods)
Here is my scorpion Fighter. It's one of the ships that survived my almighty deleting spree (mods)
