Hey @Bochinator, I'd like to offer a bit of constructive criticism.
Having all of your reactor cores clustered together like that isn't a very effective. Crew will group to the closest one, ignoring the others. Try spreading them out a bit, putting them closer to the systems that need them. The same goes for crew quarters, as crew will return to them if they have nothing else to do. One of my earlier ship designs put all of the reactors in the center of the ship, and if it were a Bounty Hunter enemy, it would be wiped out almost instantly. I see this mostly on your smaller ships, but larger ships like the Bruiser and the Block also seem to suffer from this problem. A good rule-of-thumb to go by is making sure that your reactors are at least 4 blocks apart. Granted, I myself break this rule quite often, but it prevent huge chain reactions of reactors blowing each other up.
Another thing that could help is to flush out the hull of your ships. Take, for instance, the Longbow. You could flush out the shields, boost engines and PD to make them more effective. Also, you could make the Railgun nozzles flush with the shields up top and maybe fit another accelerator.
Hope this helps!
EDIT: Another tip I learned off the forums is that you don't need the power bar to be at the recommended point. Halfway between the minimum and recommended is completely fine.
