(They took blackhole cannons, and effectively modified the 'projectile' they fire to be thermal based (ie supernova cannons) Its also pretty difficult to dodge them seeing as they can effectively plaster a 44km radius area if they all fire synchronously, based on their muzzle velocity of 1.5c (which is achieved by using a fucking ridiculous kinetic accelerator, and by enveloping the projectile in a warp field (the thing you use to make warpdrive FTL work)) which means even at multiple lightseconds away the time you have to not be in a 44km area is small.)
Also:
If we made the Mak basically fuck off and retreat how is this a fail
Considering our ships are still in system (and ive already explained either here or on discord why FTL ramming the Voidborn thermal-flak fields doesnt actually impact the ships - because you hit a projectile and that FTLsplodes you first)
