Breaking News!
Wealthy noble has gone missing!
Yesterday around 16:23 local standard time a distress signal was sent by a civilan luxury yacht (Type: Silverswan-X-02[modified] manufactured by Quint-Celestial Company) in neutral sector 17-DN-6B. The owner claimed to be threatened by pirates and asked a local law-enforcement agency for help. It appears the owner was a rather wealthy noble from a nearby colony, his name will be will not be mentioned here for privacy reasons.
After approximately 15 minutes a policing squad had been gathered and readied, the units were dispatched towards the distress signal, however, there seemed to be a large interdiction sphere in the area so the units had been dropped out of ftl-travel about seven lightminutes away. by that time a group of unregistered ships was already in range of the Yacht.
While the law-enforcement units called for reinforcements, due to the apparent hostile intents of the unregistered ships, yet due to the active interdiction in teh area they had to move with sub-light drives towards the group which took, considerably longer.
It appears the group was quick and well organized, and nearly immedietly took down the main shield generator of the yacht, while the law-enforcement units had to stand by several lightminutes away, unable to help
By the time of the attack the assaulted ship had several state-of-the-art point defense installments to deal with small asteroids and escaping, however it was not built for an actual battle.
Moments after the shield had been taken down, the attackers destroyed the escape-craft of the yacht and went into position nearby the spacewalk-terraces.
The law-enforcement units had made about half the distance towards the battle by this point, however another one of the attackers ships had been force-docked in the landing bay and following that the ship was most likely boarded by the crew of these ships. By this time one of the wings of the yacht had been damaged and broke off, however the ships ceased fire the moment, the boarding actions commenced.
Five minutes later the law-enforcement units were nearly in firing range several transmissions and warnings had been sent towards both groups yet none of them answered, three minutes after the boarding the distress signal had been turned off.
Five minutes and 36 seconds after the boarding parties had enetered the yacht and exactly fifteen minutes after the initial attack all ships turned and entered ftl-travel, just before the policing ships reached firing range, it appears the boarding parties had either taken over the ship or hooked up it´s ftl-drive, though this is currently speculation.
All that remained of the captured ship was the wing which had been broken off in the battle, with one traumatized crewmember onbard who had survived due to running to one of the emergency-rooms with blastdoors. The part and the crewmember had been immedietly collected by the police upon arrival and brought back to a nearby station.
Tracing the ftl-wake of the ships had been proven impossible due to a sort of jamming wave the ships had left behind when leaving.
The rescued crewmember is currently under therapy and will remain anonymous for privacy reasons, with the serial-number of the wings parts the family had been located and informed about the incident.
The fate of the remaining crewmembers and the owner of the ship is currently unknown.
Before the ships disappeared a transmission had been sent to the law-enforecement units, containing simply a picture of a human skull which was holding a rose with it´s teeth.
Matching up the sign with the databanks has led to the name "Undead Roses" a group of space-pirates that had been sighted very rarely during the last few centuries, how a pirate group became this old, where it came from and why it is still active is unknown at the current time, local authorities ask for help of the general public, if you have any information regarding the incident please call one of the local policing or law-enforcement stations.
The "Undead Roses" have been classified as highly dangerous to stray ships, as this attack seemed to have been well planned out, should you encounter them stay calm, try to escape towards a nearby station and send a distress call.
