Unbeknownst to the two men, something has been able to breach the ship undetected. The creature stalks through the innards of the ship, silently killing all that approach it. This particular creature is a quite special one - it was experimented on by Dr. Norbert Gorbert and his research team at the Acudreus Research Station. Only known as Specimen 13, this particular creature showed enhanced intelligence and simple understanding of human machinery.
(Specimen 13, along with Specimen 5, 29, and 9 in the rear; all are now free from captivity.)
Specimen 13 witnessed its brothers and sisters be slaughtered by these...these Aliens, and was determined to kill the leaders of these invaders. All it had to do was find them, and avenge its brethren. It soon came across the engine room - of course, it had no idea what an engine room was - but had a brief instinct that this is what controlled The Beast (what the creatures named the Oblidiron). Specimen 13 clamored over some piping, and hid among the shadows, detecting signs of movement - workers in the engine room.
It crawled through the piping, waiting for them to pass. It jumped down silently, looking at the main generator. It raised its claws to prepare to destroy it, but not until something caught its eye - a "lever" as its captors had called it. Specimen 13 knew how to operate one. It reached down and pulled the lever, and then it pulled some more levers, and then it pushed some buttons, and then it continued to destroy and smash the engine control console.
Without the console, the generator would not be able to cool itself and stabilize. Which means that it will explode. The ship automatically detected a leak, and soon klaxons blared throughout the ship, warning of the imminent danger of implosion from the engines. Specimen 13, alarmed by the alarms, climbed back up into the pipes, and ducked into an air vent, continuing on its original mission.
