Why has this not been fixed?

I am at a point where I cannot play because the game won't let me manually save. It still Auto-Saves but that is not sufficient. Looking through old threads this bug is very old but still unfixed, while it is a rare bug without Mods it is at the point where I cannot play with any non-vanilla stuff without running into this bug (I know this probably should be in the Have Mods section but it is still a vanilla bug that can occur without Mods) I saw an old thread saying it was being fixed in the next patch but that was ages ago and it is still here.

clojelo From what I understand it is not a crash, but being unable to manually save the game sometimes.

I definitely fixed a cannot-save bug many months ago, and you're the first person to mention having this problem since then.

In order to fix it, since I haven't experienced this problem myself, I need some clue about under what conditions it happens, such as what mods are being used (if any) and what parts may be related.

Only Running Automation ++ and Bounty Hunter Enhanced. BHE is outdated by a couple versions but I am about to do some testing to figure out which one it causing it and if it is BHE I may just downgrade to an earlier version or try the Mod Updater if that is up to date. BHE Has never broken my game when it has been outdated before and I only got the Save bug after installing Automation ++ so I post post again once I have tested.

Ok It seems to have been Automation++ or having it and BHE active. I seem to have the game running fine with just BHE. I will post something on the Automation++ page.

I still play bounty because I use mods to make it actually challenging, I find creative a bit dull and lacking in any sense of progression.

Just posting to say that the issue seems to be related to Automation++ as I am having no problems running just BHE.

ThatFurryChick Yeah, I remember having this very same problem using Drones++, funnily enough when I was working on BHE. My guess is it has something to do with pre-loading FTL drives, but I could be wrong there. Also, pre-loaded FTL drives used to freeze my game every once in a while, so it could certainly be the culprit
