Walt Well kind of the point IS to make missiles OP so that you need PD to defend against them.
OP 2x power missiles just for testing purposes as i understand? (ingame this would be 2much i guess)

MIssiles at least not more OP then Railguns. Both of theses offenses sometimes seem OP because only certain counters work.
If you combine shields&PD&Armor&thrust missiles are counterable but a singel countermeasure, (like @Saris PD only protected thrusters on his nautilus), not protecting you 100% against missiles seems fine.
So slightly altering them is ok but a complete change would brobably shake it up a lot and lead to imbalances.
What @IVIemories said was also interesting: "Remeber when shields where op because there where no electobolts?"
Again: changing existing weaponry dramatically before new weapons are here would hardly make any sense.
Like not changing ions before the prism upgrade - seems a good idea!
Hope i'm right in at least some things about this - or am i just biased because i won the finals with "missile orbiters" ?
[btw.: off topic recommending rewatching "october18 tourney: Luke VS Orb" - shows how to fly an initial attack loop properly, but also how to get sandwiched, and finally win by maneuvering and targeting = how thrust balances cosmoteer.]
