You proceed to a fairly armored AI core, and a few automated turrets plus two small security teams block your way. If you are able to deal with them, you can easily cut through the armor with a good plasma torch.

Many Gauss weaponry such as rifle opens fire on you, but there is cover (hiding in turret control rooms)as the crew are not willing to risk breaking their weaponry..

Nah, the Rebels have Assassins, which are like Ninjas, except they have these invisibility devices. So freaky.

The Rebel Commandos split into two groups. One group full on attacks the Security Team, while the other group position themselves in one of the Turret Control Rooms and hurl some grenades over at the Auto-mated turrets.

The attacking group take heavy loses, but the grenade group effectively destroy the automated turrets

Instead of openly using the ship to attack other ships, they program the AI core to send out an entirely different signature and override the AI cores in the other ships. This takes a while, but is a distraction for the Reinforcements to act on the imposing force

A few of the ships don't get overrided, as their AI cores are ancient, however you have control of most of the fleet.

Just before being destroyed, all the data of the black boxes of the ancient ships are transmitted to Eontenvian HIGHCOM, and a request for assistance, if can be provided. The Second battle of Erimus is still raging, and if anyone can be sent, it will be sent.

I didn't bring any Cruisers because thats a waste.

The Rebel ships now go into full on combat. With the imposing force greatly weakened, they now have only one strategy.

Destroy or be destroyed

They deep-scan the system, but find nothing of use. They pull out the ships they originally sent to find the signature and focus on getting out of the system intact with no enemies alive to tell the tail.

Catelyn my non-existent AI modules (I should really write the full lore of the Rebels and the SGG someday, but basically, there are no AI cores in the Rebel ships)?

Meanwhile, the destroyers have reached the Eontenvian ships and fire their Obliterator beams to finish them off
