One of the scouts, distracted, smash into the side of a asteroid. The reinforcements are in the process of mobilizing and won't be ready for some time

The rest of the small fleet await the larger ships to catch up while preparing to fight the oncoming force.

(Just for once, I might force it that the Rebels win, just to show that they are an imposing force not to laugh about)

Ultranova (Fair point, and i could have those very same ship types with improved armor and weaponry based on data from the GRF, giving me a fifty percent chance of a battle going my way.)

The ships stay in place, as if to say "come get me."

The railguns are raised, and thermonuclear missiles are armed. Pulsed laser and plasma cannons are also armed and ready to fire.

They are also ready to call in larger capital ships.

The Larger Rebel ships that had been waiting in the orbit of a nearby planet have arrived in record time. It's not enough for a full on war with capital ships, but enough to show some fighters who's boss. The reinforcements had just got off the ground, but are still at least an hour to 2 hours away.

The Rebels broadcast: "This is your last chance! Give yourselves up and we will let you go free"

the transmission is held open.

Their fleet is in a disorganized formation with some weak forces at the center of the formation, so this may be a great time to attack...

The Rebels get into a standard attack formation and advance rapidly. They send the Light Gunships to attack the center of the fleet while protecting it with some Arrow Fighters. The Large Transport uses her guns to blow some space for the dropships to bear their machine guns, ready to fight

The Rebel ships use the transmission to their advantage and bombard the ships with high pitched audio

Ultranova As you attack the center of the formation, the center simply does not die...

But it moves back.
The other sides simply fight in a disorganized fashion, being damaged by the Rebel ships.
The only form of comms is text message, and they attempt to cut off the transmission.

A few gunships fly out of hyperspace to counter some of the fighters.

The Rebel Light Gunships now focus on the sides of the force, seeing as the ships are fighting horribly there. A few of the Rebel Dropships have been severely damaged, but nothing compared to the loses the other side has received. The Large Transport mows straight through the lot, blowing ship after ship aside

But by then it's too late. The gunships have moved the weakest forces back...

And the formation is a circle now.
Plasma cannons and laser turrets open fire with maximum power, superheated matter slamming into the shields of the rebel ships.

(I tested the transport, and against my assault frigate, said frigate caused one hundred forty two thousand credits of damage, whilst sustaining only six thousand.)

(The large transport is good for smaller ships, but it makes barely a dent on larger ships)

The Rebels, however, have an ace up their sleeve. The Arrow Fighters all have a small detachment of highly accurate guided missiles, which they fire straight into the barrels of the Plasma cannons. The laser turrets they are less concerned about, since the armour they use is designed to handle Laser blasts.

The Large Transports weapons are silent, since it's a waste of ammo against the Gunships. The Rebel Light Gunships are now focusing on the Gunships, using their Ion beams to plow into them

Ultranova Diffusion shields manage to block some of the missiles for the newer ships and shoot down the missiles with point defense.

However, quite a few plasma cannons die.
The gunships use their gatling guns to shred weaker armor of the Rebel Gunships, and destroy some weapons whilst the smaller Eontenvian gunships die out.

The larger fleet ships use their railgun turrets to destroy the armor to get to the weaponry of the Rebel ships, however the Assault Frigate is effectively out of action with the plasma cannons destroyed and laser turrets ineffective.

(My assault frigate shredded the large transport in highly accurate(tm) simulation!)

The Dropships act now. They speed towards the gunships and board the ship. The Rebel Commandos quickly and effectively take over one of the gunships and turn it around against the remain ships of the fleet
