...as they reached the ground they saw that this city, maybe even the entire planet had apparently already been destroyed before the atmosphere had been gone, it might even be that whatever attacked had caused the planetary devastation and the loss of the atmosphere as whatever the planet had been orbiting before was gone or somehwere far off...
...craters of orbital bombardment could be seen occassionally on the way though the city and mild radiation levels telling of the use of nuclear weapons or something alike in the distant past, eventually they reached their destination, half of the ceiling had been collapsed but it was clearly some sort of factory, resources were lying scattered across the ground in hexagonal bars, of about 30 centimetres diameter and 10 in height, Titanium, tungsten, gold, silver, platinum, and then there was another two things, one kind of the odd shaped bars looked like some crystal, it was transparent and light blue, but scans showed it was clearly metal, yet the ships sensors didn´t show it from orbit, despite it´s apparently rather high energy capacity and then mostly covered in the collapsed rubble something seemed to be in the center of the factory, it´s apparently what had been made here, but only a few centimetres of the crystal material and some gold plating peeked out at the top...
