(Then here's a correction) 67% of the ships were either damaged... Or ripped apart, the remaining 33% of the ships were completely vaporised... a 2nd group of ships jumped in and (and thats where it goes onto the previous post where they explore the wreckage and perform rescue ops)

So this may be dumb, but just so those people here who might be new to RP can understand and avoid maybe finding themselves in that situation, can you explain how you knew what was coming with the explosion?

LeftHandofGod I could answer this in two ways:
First, I notified everyone who approached the borders that ftl within the borders is most likely hazarous of not deadly, due to the sub-space particles that followed the apocalypse, the will latch onto ships, move into engines, they´re thin spread but have enough density and energy to grind everything to dust that tries to enter ftl within the terriotry, if it is not immediatly detonated or evaporated by the friction and energy potential once they are triggered, should someone try to open agat eor Portal of whatever sorts, the particles would also enter this and make it collapse upon itself due to the heavy strains the high energy potential put on the gate or tunnel of sorts, it might also happen that the area around the side might be infested with the same particles in the process.
Second, I did predict that the Imperium would use the FTl jump, as there had been no obvious ways to escape and from what I´ve seen the Imperium prefers an by their standards honorful death over a defeat of whatever kin dit may be, aswell their emergency protocols state to erase all data and (if I remmeber right) use the self-destruction in a case of being captured, though as they knew of the subspace particles there was a much more efficent way to handle the self-destruction: entering ftl and destroying everything in the near vicinity, it was a logical course of action for the Imperium.

Contingency ships open fire, destroying fighter wings and damaging the fleet. The 2nd and 3rd Dreadnoughts are targeted, receiving damage by the powerful drone launchers used by the Contingency. The Piramids atempt to create an opening to invade the ship.

The corvettes on the sidelines and the remaining fighters close up ranks and start shooting some of the drones down, limiting damage. What does get through, while it might impair a weaker ship is negligible to the Dreadnoughts. An offshoot of the Venator-class, Storm-class ships are ridiculously resilient to damage. The Carrier on the other side of the fleet formation noses forward a little and fire a stream of weapons fire at the Pyramids, cutting them apart and plowing into the enemy fleet. The Dreadnoughts add their massed fire, with a quarter of the weapons dedicated to shooting down drone barrages. The space between the two fleets is filled with blazing lights and explosions.

...the swarm followed them for several more minutes through the field and shields started failing at several spots leaving them open to the heavy hunter shells, though due to not being damaged by the ftl incident beforehand like the other Vernichter they were able to withstand the impacts even though taking damages to the hull, eventually the swarm retreated it was unclear if it was the border of the field or if they did not deem the ships worth the effort but they disappeared in the depths of the field again as abruptly as they appeared...
...as they left the field all of the ships had retained damages, the asteroids they initially towed were still within the field but all of the ships apart of the destroyed Vernichter were still operable at least...
...in the distance a massive spike of energy was detected though they were out of reach of it´s influence at the current time, several minutes later a fleet of ships entered the territory around that position...

With around 73 ships left, the Contingency fighters begin press up against the remaining suport ships. 5 Tatical Piramids use their heavy armor to move foward, followed by several Piramids. 8 Piramids assault the main Dreadnought (Storm-class right?) ventral hull. The 2nd Dreadnought is targeted, with all ships launching drones upon it, breaking through the point defenses of the ship, causing major hull damage on the starbord (starbord or starboard?) of the ship, damaging its "wing".

...after standing back and scanning the space for an extended amount of time they could make out a faint signature in the background which seemed to be unique to this part of space, which might or might not be the cause for the glowing, though their scanners seemed to be unable to make any exact scans on it past that, as they were not built to pick up this sort of signature and adapting the sensors would take days and even then it might not be enough as it seemed to be fundamentally different from other background radiation...

After very long wait ships start approaching the signature, ready to stop and retreat once they gather some information about it. They suppose it is dangerous, so all weapons are up and ready.

...Kelran moved off the planet following his original route, for some reason the ship that followed Jake, apparently a Corvette, did not take notice or interest in him occassionally passing by other barren planets, until somehwere in his path, yet quite a distance away currently a massive life-signature appeared on the sensors, the size of it was alarming, if the sensors didn´t malfunction it´d mean it had the size of a small planet...

...it took a while but eventually the Anhysbys were able to extract some of the data it appears the ship was part of a faction called "Keepers of Light" and at the time the ship crashed here they had been at war with the Cult, several battel reports showed that teh ship had taken part in a few ambushes, something about a Adonian Empire, then the logs ended at some point most likely due to the early demise of the ship...

...by now several things had happened, two fleets which seemd to oppose each other had suddenly detonated in a massive ball of plasma, after one of them tried to enter ftl, then a small fleet appeared a while later, at it´s position now another signature began building up, somewhere in the distance a group of damaged ships had left the asteroid field...

Raider Drakador_Chaos Of the signatures coming, one of them seemed to be ahead of the others - much bigger and sporadic... eventually some hideous combination of Rift-tech and Blood comes to a stop near the apex of the first explosion, seeming to be more shielded than any bloodcult ship on record.

The engines of this ship, however, were all but burned out. It seemed to have used some sort of Rift-technology that was not quite FTL, but not quite stable either. Energy signatures fluctuate as some sort of background scanning apparatus becomes operational.

@LeftHandofGod also there really isnt any war as you destroyed the strongest fleet the mercs had and us mercs have no allies, only friends

Yeah but there´s currently no merc within the territory and teh ones that scanned the battlefield left again, that´s what I pointed out there, it´s also more of a personal reminder.

...the small fleet they found was still a considerable distance away, though several ships radiating a rather odd mix of energies seemed to be approaching them, aswell, the other fleet which had been near the asteroid field had apparently entered it and disappeared within...in the meanwhile the ship that they nearly crashed into before seemed to continue charging up energy...

...as the mercenaries saw the other ships approaching another ship passed the borders in the meanwhile, it toosed a small ship aside which seemed to be nearby and started building up energy while the small ship had apparently started approaching the mercenary fleet...

...as the mercenary group approached the Cult territory, there was a sign in their path, it was just floating there amongst space regardless of the explosion several moments ago and despite the apparent inisgnificance of tehir entrypoint, it read as follows...

...somewhere in the distance a small group of ships left the asteroid field and started sending a transmission off to somewhere, another thing they noticed is that the space and subspace behind the borders seemed to be filled with high density exotic particles which would make ftl travel hazardous, if not deadly...
