...while the group was able to evacuate about 60% of the crew and data, several more of the beasts were shot down it had apparently lost about 25% of it´s original numbers by now, though as they were trying to defend the Vernichter they quickly found out thatcovering a ship in field that was literally the home of the beast was incredibly difficult, as suddenly some hunter shells came flying in from behind the defensive formation hitting some of the now exposed reactors cores of the already damaged Vernichter, sealing sit´s fate and whatever remained on the wreckage...
For a few moments after the explosion the swarm was still firing at the already demolished ship, while the two Vernichter which had formed the Wedge to protect the ship had taken minor collateral damages the and two of the four remaining Kriegskutter started to get issues with their shielding, they were mostly still intact...at the moment...

The remaining crew of the Vernichter had made it to the escape pods in time, those were collected and the destroyed Vernichter got towed out of the wreckage. Backing up with the Kriegskutters, they made it out of the territory and are now currently radioing support in:
"UNTERSTÜTZUNG! WIR BRAUCHEN MEHR SCHIFFE!"

...as they approached the ship the observations of the drones were confirmed, no crew, no corpses, heavy damages, apart of the heavy turbolaser batteries and the heavy shields there seemed to be a few containers of dark matter on board, also from this point they could probably also try to read what remains of the Datalogs...

Lacking any real technological computing equiptment, accessing the datalogs would be a slow and tedious process, for this reason alone, many would leave, but since it could prove helpfull, they decide to stop here for a while as one of the Anhysbys manually attempts to wire itself into the ship to read them.

...it took a while but eventually the Anhysbys were able to extract some of the data it appears the ship was part of a faction called "Keepers of Light" and at the time the ship crashed here they had been at war with the Cult, several battel reports showed that teh ship had taken part in a few ambushes, something about a Adonian Empire, then the logs ended at some point most likely due to the early demise of the ship...

...Kelran moved off the planet following his original route, for some reason the ship that followed Jake, apparently a Corvette, did not take notice or interest in him occassionally passing by other barren planets, until somehwere in his path, yet quite a distance away currently a massive life-signature appeared on the sensors, the size of it was alarming, if the sensors didn´t malfunction it´d mean it had the size of a small planet...

LeftHandofGod the fleet powers down its weapons but powers up its shields just enough so they're not noticeable but will withstand a barrage "there ya happy ya lil buggers"

The corvette crew starts getting nervous, before the commander on board transfers control over the AI module onboard. All the crew file in cryostasis and the computer removes the safeguards on acceleration, meaning the corvette rockets forward, from 2.5g all the way up to 15g's of thrust. Weapons are primed and targeted.

"Hah. Not really. Although I feel required to point out that our ship is much lighter than your fleet, and therefore has a much higher acceleration threshold. On that note, I have orders to return to Command and inform them of the goings-on in this region. Good Bye."
The gunship pivots and fires all thrusters, running for the border of Cult-space and the FTL-point as fast as possible.

LeftHandofGod the carrier activates a tractor beam and grabs the ship as it fires its thrusters and pulls it close then 3 small boarding vessels launch out of one of its many hangars,they attach to the ship and create an air-tight seal onto the ship "last chance before or boarding parties breach your hull and take them by force, leaving you and your crew dead!!"

The Captain roars in fury. "For the Imperium! DEATH AND GLORY!"
The corvette's small FTL drive activates and goes supernova, vaporizing everything in the vicinity of several hundred kilometers and making FTL travel even more hazardous than it already was. Milliseconds before its death, the ship sends a signal out towards Imperial space, carrying a record of everything that's happened so far.

LeftHandofGod 21% of the fleet managed to escape into FTL before the wave hit them and reported back to mother base, after 10 minutes they jumped back in and were welcomed by a terrifying sight, 67% of the fleet was either extremely damaged... or ripped apart, the remaining 12% was vaporized completely... they began rescue operations hoping to find survivors, but only found 3% of the trillions of souls that were in the fleet wreckage, the carrier (surprisingly enough) had nothing but the highly reinforced and advanced bridge remaining... which is where they found the only survivors... the mercenary group lived on, the captain of the once great carrier survived, and called what happened "a declaration of war"

...the swarm followed them for several more minutes through the field and shields started failing at several spots leaving them open to the heavy hunter shells, though due to not being damaged by the ftl incident beforehand like the other Vernichter they were able to withstand the impacts even though taking damages to the hull, eventually the swarm retreated it was unclear if it was the border of the field or if they did not deem the ships worth the effort but they disappeared in the depths of the field again as abruptly as they appeared...
...as they left the field all of the ships had retained damages, the asteroids they initially towed were still within the field but all of the ships apart of the destroyed Vernichter were still operable at least...
...in the distance a massive spike of energy was detected though they were out of reach of it´s influence at the current time, several minutes later a fleet of ships entered the territory around that position...

...after standing back and scanning the space for an extended amount of time they could make out a faint signature in the background which seemed to be unique to this part of space, which might or might not be the cause for the glowing, though their scanners seemed to be unable to make any exact scans on it past that, as they were not built to pick up this sort of signature and adapting the sensors would take days and even then it might not be enough as it seemed to be fundamentally different from other background radiation...

If the sensors on the damaged fleet weren't already going crazy, they were definitely going crazy now. An unidentified signature that was previously dismissed as some sort of noise is now erratically heading towards the site of the supernova-esque explosion.

(Then here's a correction) 67% of the ships were either damaged... Or ripped apart, the remaining 33% of the ships were completely vaporised... a 2nd group of ships jumped in and (and thats where it goes onto the previous post where they explore the wreckage and perform rescue ops)

the crew of the macross fleet now understand that although it is a normal thing for explorers to explore unknown space,it is considered a declaration of war against alien if where the fleet are traveling is considered "homeworld" for others and they burst their way through by means of force,and it is not allowed in the law of NUNS,as peace is top priority for survival of human race
after acknowledging the fact that they are indeed pushing the boundaries of law,the RVF-25 pings the following message:very well,we shall leave current space if thats what you wish,but if you changed your mind and allow us to explore the unknown or share survey data,feel free to contact us again
a ghost V9,carrying a set of fold drives with coordinates to Planet Frontier,is launched into the asteroid belt while the rest of the fighters,both RVF 25 and VF 27 are recalled back to Macross Quatar,after all fighters are successfully docked,all ships warped away via fold drive.....
