They communicate for a moment, and decide to send out a few drones to check ahead, should they not return, they will presume it is hostile, and decide what to do from there.
Although, this act will slow their advance for a while.

...while the mainpart of the small group headed onwards the drones moved towards the unknown object...
...after a while they returned, unharmed, it appears the object was a spaceship of sorts, though it did not seem to part of the Cult and showed heavy damaged most likely caused by their weapons, the ship had a white paint with yellow(golden?) ornaments and had (for the Anhysbys most likely) primitive weaponry and a variety of other things onboard, most notably all of the crew seemed to be missing there were no carcasses either though parts of the shiplog seemed to be still intact on this thing, however the drones alone could not retrieve the data...

...as Jake went closer to the dome-like structure, he started noticing that the shielding was limited to it´s inside, however somewhere near the structure there seemed to be a sort of cave, he was close to the planet now but the Corvette had cought up another good bit in the meanwhile, soon it would be in firing range, aswell the feeling of dread had gotten slightly stronger though it felt more like...a passive effect as if the presence of what was in there caused it and it didn´t actually take notice of them yet? Aswell the vessel of the shadowguy had vanished from the sensors...

The Contingency moves foward, some ships being teared apart by the long range weapons that manage to hit, they prepare to shoot once they are in range.

The Imperial fleet pushes forward into range, and opens up with all turbolaser batteries.

I can't tell if this is reinforcements or a fleet formation.

LeftHandofGod (Well as of currently I´m unsure if it´s reinforcements or the time until engagement. They why I wrote that. On the other hand, via very specialized methods one can send a signal out, but the reinforcements would have to head through field again first.)

...it appears the Corvette was indeed faster than Jakes vessel, though it hadn´t quite catched up yet, as it got closer to the planet Jakes vessel headed to, the second dot on the sensors suddenly disappeared, aswell a slight fleeing of dread came up in the crew the closer they went to that barren planet...

Contingency ships open fire, destroying fighter wings and damaging the fleet. The 2nd and 3rd Dreadnoughts are targeted, receiving damage by the powerful drone launchers used by the Contingency. The Piramids atempt to create an opening to invade the ship.

...Kelran waited, as most of the unnecessairy systems had been turned of he should´ve technically disappeared from their sensors unless they passed immedietly by his ship, though, Jake was apparently heading towards the same target as he was about to before, and the Corvette would most likely follow him there...

The fleet decides to Detour and investigate the ship, taking care not to accidentally push an asteroid into it.
They stay alert this time, watching their surroundings as they approach (rather loudly admittedly) through the field.

...as they approached the ship the observations of the drones were confirmed, no crew, no corpses, heavy damages, apart of the heavy turbolaser batteries and the heavy shields there seemed to be a few containers of dark matter on board, also from this point they could probably also try to read what remains of the Datalogs...

...while the group was able to evacuate about 60% of the crew and data, several more of the beasts were shot down it had apparently lost about 25% of it´s original numbers by now, though as they were trying to defend the Vernichter they quickly found out thatcovering a ship in field that was literally the home of the beast was incredibly difficult, as suddenly some hunter shells came flying in from behind the defensive formation hitting some of the now exposed reactors cores of the already damaged Vernichter, sealing sit´s fate and whatever remained on the wreckage...
For a few moments after the explosion the swarm was still firing at the already demolished ship, while the two Vernichter which had formed the Wedge to protect the ship had taken minor collateral damages the and two of the four remaining Kriegskutter started to get issues with their shielding, they were mostly still intact...at the moment...

The remaining crew of the Vernichter had made it to the escape pods in time, those were collected and the destroyed Vernichter got towed out of the wreckage. Backing up with the Kriegskutters, they made it out of the territory and are now currently radioing support in:
"UNTERSTÜTZUNG! WIR BRAUCHEN MEHR SCHIFFE!"

Lacking any real technological computing equiptment, accessing the datalogs would be a slow and tedious process, for this reason alone, many would leave, but since it could prove helpfull, they decide to stop here for a while as one of the Anhysbys manually attempts to wire itself into the ship to read them.

...it took a while but eventually the Anhysbys were able to extract some of the data it appears the ship was part of a faction called "Keepers of Light" and at the time the ship crashed here they had been at war with the Cult, several battel reports showed that teh ship had taken part in a few ambushes, something about a Adonian Empire, then the logs ended at some point most likely due to the early demise of the ship...

Dealing with these damn looters would and the beast would waste my time. I should return to my original plan.

...Kelran moved off the planet following his original route, for some reason the ship that followed Jake, apparently a Corvette, did not take notice or interest in him occassionally passing by other barren planets, until somehwere in his path, yet quite a distance away currently a massive life-signature appeared on the sensors, the size of it was alarming, if the sensors didn´t malfunction it´d mean it had the size of a small planet...

LeftHandofGod the fleet powers down its weapons but powers up its shields just enough so they're not noticeable but will withstand a barrage "there ya happy ya lil buggers"
