heres my first try with your lore(of course with typical settings) (also,i got enough factions to worry about already,just providing some innovations for you 😉 ):
In a place far away,the Etharians develop technology as they pursuit the goal of all sentient lifeforms——Imortality,after trillions of trials and error,they successfully developed a way to upload their mind into a metal frame,and due to this they finally escape the inevitable cycle of death and decay,they rejoice and live whatever they feel to,unchained by mortal needs like eat,excrete and rest,the utopia lasted for decades,and they believe that it would,technically,be forever,but what they didn't know is that as the time move onward,replacement of body parts become necessities,and due to the lack of work force and equipments (as everyone go to do whatever they feel like it and all equipment are scrapped to fulfill their needs like construction of new amusement parks) the population slowly decreases,body parts are forcefully exchanged,minds are discombobulated,and civilisation are reduce to merely rubble and dust,despair and chaos lingers around like a thick piece of cloud,among the vast crowds of bodies,few retain their equipments during what was called "The Great Fantasy",and they form a group called [insert faction name] to reach beyond,just like they had always been before the discovery of robotic ascension,now,with the remains of their previous civilisation and their newest understandings,they reach beyond the stars,in search of the cure for this "Metallic Curse" of their race....
