"I-I-I Don't k-k-know sir I-it might be the e-e-engines gone, t-the designers have a strange o-o-obsession with building them away from the h-h-hull on a long stick. I-I-if you untie me ill rig the gravity ring to give some forward m-m-momentum... J-j-j-just please don't s-s-shoot me as well."
The mouse is clearly upset about the way you just shot everyone in the bridge.
But he isn't really in a position to complain.
Now however, in the bridge, you notice many failed outgoing transmissions to surgeon ships.
Maybe the ISC transports are jamming the signal?
Faragaut:
Only a couple of the insectoid creatures attack the escaping Troops, easily dealt with, however they still manage to dent the armour of one of the troopers while they run, instilling more fear into the troops.
Their luck seems to have been immeasurable regardless of this up until a staccato of machinegun fire down the corridor they where running down forces them into cover, a couple of them being hit, but the bullets ricochet off their armour.
It seems they have encountered a defensive position, from behind the durasteel barricade the mg is mounted on they see two lances pointed up, suggesting two more guards are present hiding behind the barricade. Likely equipped only with shock lances, due to them not expecting such a powerful boarding party. The mg seems to be automated.
Various curses in an unknown language are hurled at the troops from the barricade, they will likely not both surrender.
(Unknown to the troops, is that the lancers have personal shield belts, meaning long range fire is unlikely to do more than dent the shielding. However unlike ship shields, you cannot fire out from the inside, so they are forced to use melee weapons. and if they get in the way of the MG, it cannot shoot through the shield either, and instead is programmed not to fire if allies are in the way. you can mêlée them through their shields.)
(Their shock-Lances should be able to stab through most armour, but it's abilities lie in that it can electrocute targets, even if it didn't hit conductive materials, the lance can overload its batteries to fire a very close range lightning strike to stun and possibly paralize a foe. This cannot be easily countered, unless you are immune to electrocution. However they would need to be pretty much within an arms reach of your troops for it to work due. Leaving them easily vulnerable to mêlée attack.)
(The defenders themselves are nimble, rather than strong, and will be unlikely to survive more than one hit before collapsing from the pain of it all. Both are fennec fox-humanoids, and are only around the troops neck height. So are at a physical disadvantage strength wise, but are much more agile than your troops, to compliment this, they are wearing very weak, but light, armour. So unlike yours, theirs won't deflect things, other than maybe a knife. The shield belts are around their waists, and hitting it with a knife might disable it. Although whacking them round the head with the stock of your gun would be much more efficient, due to their lack of any headgear. Their aggressive nature makes them unlikely to back down until one of them is dead, dying or knocked out.)
