"So be it then."
U21 messages U34 to call in a reactor and a shield to serve as a heat shield, and tells him to pay with 21's money.
After about half an hour, planetary defense systems power up, as well as the hexagonal beam. They aim directly at the wreckage and fire, which looks terrifying at a distance.
A payload arrives soon after the shot. It parts, revealing a reactor, shield, and U34 with his hardlight gun and new legs, as well as proper wings this time. The legs are in fact a ball and a foot, the ball serving as a knee joint and uses directed magnets to "attach" itself at a distance to the hips, as well as attach the foot to itself. It works surprisingly well. Hexer's elite edition can project hardlight coverages that look much like conventional legs. U34 lands with new magboots, grabbing the reactor using his new boot. The leg is too bouncy to properly walk, but U34 says that "it was a rush" and the doctors could not tune the legs. Anyway, U34 throws two magnetic disks on the ship, which immediately attach with more force than U34's first landing. He then places the reactor and the shield on these disks, creating an acceptable, but obviously not-for-combat and definitely not-for-crashlanding connection.
"We're set, now I'll make a door through that new joint, and we could supply the shield."
U34 begins shooting the walls of the reactor and the shield, creating a large enough hole between them to walk through. Noticeably, some of U34's shots left a [REDACTED]-shaped bullet hole, as well as being pink. His blaster dies once he starts to trim the edges of the improvised door.
"Guess that's that. 21, power the shield and keep it so."
With that, U34 leaves to the other side of the ship, calculates something for a whole minute, and begins occasionally thrusting with his wings while sticking to the ship, slowly and gently driving it to the planet.
"Expected arrival time - er, one sec... no, not one second, of course, it's about... yeah, almost a day. 21, throw some energy cells at me time to time, I need these powered too."
U34 nods at the wings, and continues thrusting.
