STE London class Mk2^
next up was the London class, the Dreadnought's predecesor, much lighter and less shielded than the Dreadnought, it was before being upgraded, a light frigate/destroyer.
However, for this ship, i wanted it to serve a purpose, and so i shortened it, and gave it loads of PD, so it can fufil a screening role in a fleet. It is made to be very manuverable (for a conventional ship without internal thrusters), and is made purely for defence, being based off a similar Hull to the Dreadnought, it shares many simalarities when it comes down to internals, however it's smaller size and less weapons make it much faster.
It is also made to pretty much force Kiters to get closer to the ship it is defending, upon which missiles and a single ion beam will open fire from it, along with whatever armament is on the ship it was following.
(basically, it is made to force a stalemate if someone tries to missile kite it, forcing them to come into range.)
Here, i show it (and it's fleet) being effective against a wall made by @the_guy545 :
the ships used came in at less cost then the wall.

after setting the wall to attack the middle ship, i told the three to turn, their fast rotation speed easily turning long before coming in range.

the ships do a good job cutting down the missiles, however many make it through.
(oh, and targetting the London class ships would actually make them more effective, as they could shoot missiles coming directly at them easier than this example where they are diagonal to the london's, meaning they have less chance to fire.)

The ships open fire at the wall with their ion's, this quickly destroys parts of the wall.

i then cry a little as i forgot to add fire extingishers before testing this.

anyway, rinse and repeat and you get a blown up wall

total repair cost, however it is only so high due to the fire on the bottom london class

likeley repair cost if no fire
Note this was without the wall targeting, if it was, i would likeley suffer more damage, but the same goes for me if id targetted the wall. (or just used two Dreadnoughts and a london to flank it for a similar cost)
and of course, if the wall moved, i would have been screwed a bit, but it's just an example of what i made the ship for.
Next up will be a larger battlecruiser or a smaller patrol ship, ill decide later
