A scouting drone turns up in the area (they have been allowed passage through the territory during political agreements) and is called in to examine the asteroid. The Lost Drones have the most vast knowledge of minerals and ores available in the galaxy (note: galaxy, not universe). As a scout drone, it is equiped with a “professional” grade scanning probe (equivalent of the entire Scavanger laboratory, in a box). It scans the minerals.
