Ok, nice to see that discussion started to create some good ideas 😃
I like idea of having more powerful PD, but with limited arc (45 degree), and I can imagine new part corner PD. That will allow to efficiently cover ship and create antimissile defense strong enough to hold missile spams, but for cost of making surface area covered with PDs = so weak against anything else.
But with stronger PD, I would like to have stronger missiles as well (meaning more damage).
Than, sensors for buff to missiles in air number is old idea, but still viable, but, it should work from high number of missiles, I suppose that for 1,5-2 mill and more budged ships it will be necessary to use all missiles possible, but for smaller ones not needed.
Sensor switch to sensor/ jammer is obviously logical solution, sensor can be passive or active, but usually ships have both ways, so , using active part to overload enemy sensors with to many inputs, is nice way how to make sensors usable even for small ship designed to come near and fight electronically while keeping away from enemies.
So I see that sensor will have 3 functions:
buffing number of missiles in air (good for huge ships)
Increasing sight of light and revealing hidden ships (if stealth will come)
jamming enemy sensors (including sensors and somehow missiles ( I suppose not all but some part) but for cost not be able buff own missiles and increasing line of sight.
