A small golden box without markings appears in the Tribe headquarters. It reveals a small turret which begins to spin and launch paper notes all around itself. They read:

Usage: approach with input object of size no greater than CRATE and payment in credits proportional to the expected upgrade quality. Receive upgraded object within 1 hour. Upgrade is determined by the object's defining qualities and main purpose, for example, a metal chair would be suited for sitting on and being fireproof after upgrade. He slips off a gauntlet after giving a small test, the gauntlet created a blade of energy as it was supposed to..
"ok..."
He approaches with the gauntlet and several thousand credits he dug out from under his fancy chair.
"... what..now..?"

FangTheCat The CRATE whips out a hand-shaped manipulator and quickly grabs both the gauntlet and the credits, and hides in the CRATE, which subsequently closes. CRATE begins to hum softly for a few minutes, before opening and gently presenting the same gauntlet and shooting another paper note, which veers toward the gauntlet and lands on it.

Added golden decorations, reason: glove had no attachment of "decoration", material matches cost, patterns synthesized to increase effectiveness against enemies with statuses: "poor", "mercenary", "regretful".

Stripedfoot gently puts on the gauntlet, which now feels different, upon activating the blade, it instantly springs to life.
he gets out a piece of paper, upon nearing it, the blade seems to cut through, leaving no burn marks.
"This has to be the greatest thing ever."
He looks at his other gauntlet.
"I could use its inbuilt scanners to copy the upgrade... he pauses that wouldn't be right.."
He takes off the other gauntlet, and dives to his chair again, pulling out several thousand credits again.
"Maybe I could even get Jaystar some.. he left his Extras.. and I have enough to pay for them.."
He slips back on his un-upgraded gauntlet and grabs two fancier gauntlets, smaller to fit a different paw, these blades are curved.

He approaches the box again, with double the money from before, with both gauntlets belonging to Jaystar
"These are Jaystar's."

The CRATE is in fact sentient and did not expect such a loyal customer.

It hums for quite some time, before presenting the gauntlets. From the first glance, it is immediately apparent that the gauntlets are somehow connected together.
The CRATE shoots out yet another note.

Upgrades:
WARNING: incapable of further stable upgrades. Repeated use with the CRATE voids warranty of user's safety.
Result object merged two blade emitters together, removed restraints and supercharged emitters, reason: instead of deploying blade, gauntlets now shoot out a beam of energy, two seconds of exposure to which are comparable to a strike by the blade performed by a genetically clean adult Homo Sapiens. Beam consumes more energy than blade can create: required "cooldown" of two seconds between every ten seconds of beam usage.
Gloves remade to freely allow movement of hands of user, mounted two triggers in gloves similar to firearms, each trigger hold launches the beam at half force, beam can be used infinitely at half force, press both triggers for full force.
Mounted a chest attacher, reason: object can be mounted onto chest of user and triggered to aim accordingly to user's sight by scanning brainwave activity.
Effective range changed from 400mm to 200m, reason: weapon type changed from "energy blade" to "beam projector". Maximum range - 500km +- 100 km. Expected damage at eff. range, in joules/second: kinetic: 2,5 on center of beam, potential: (incapable of calculating: calculating may deal damage to CRATE, target of average flesh expected to heat up by 80 degrees Celsius in one second)
