Kiting is the act of keeping a target within range of your weapons while staying out of range of theirs. Done right it is extremely effective. The key feature of a kiter, however, is its speed, much more so than its weapons. You can even kite a ship that has equal range waepons to you if your careful.
During the Cosmoteer event this weekend, Dalas became the new Champion, after skilfully kiting the presiding champions (coolroco101) much more powerful ships.
