So factions are kinda all over the place nowadays.
which isn't bad, just raises questions about who is next to who and how big a faction should be.
So I decided, why not generate a galaxy and plot faction territories on it?
It'll make it much more engaging to see who its neighbours are, what it claims and so on and whatnot.
So currently I got generating the galaxy down. It generates a galaxy of 1000 (now 10000) star systems (will be larger), with older
bunched up stars in the middle and mostly younger spaced out stars on the 'outer suburbs' of the galaxy - its arms.

Via Lactea - is the original Latin name for the milky way ('or the road of milk' as it was called back then) 🙂
These stars also have its own planets, and these planets have moons and inhabitants, and in future (depending on whether or not this whole thing is a good idea), will have colonies, stations, slipstream highways and whatnot.

The plan for this is that a faction can simply go: "I wish to annex star system X" and whoever manages this, will add that star system to X faction's territory if the Star system isn't occupied by another force. If it is, the faction can arrange a faction war over the planets in the star system, through either cosmosteer's multiplayer battles or diplomacy and whatnot to claim it, raid it or even death star it to rubble - if the faction has the right technology 😉.
In future factions may also deploy and produce ships in certain areas - and have resource deposits of which they can sell, trade, or use to do certain things.
Currently its under dev -

If you support this tell me and ill keep working on it 🙂
