Equalizer This mod is supposed to be harder than the existing 'hard' level. Its rated 'Very Hard'.
Mod specifics so far.
The icons are a lot bigger than the original, so you can actually see them on higher resolutions. I used numbers and color to make it more obvious what each level was without having to squint at the screen. You know, for us older people who wear glasses. 😉
As for the code specifics, it starts out a bit easier than the hard level for rank 0 through 4, with rank 5 being like the current 'hard' level.

So, the reward money is 30% of the ships value. FTL fuel is 30% of the ships mass. With an easy combat AI brain.
By rank 10, its down to 20% with the hard AI brain.

By rank 15, your down to just 15% of each value.
I will also be adjusting the 'fleet chance' values, which can make the game harder if there is a fleet created instead of a single ship.
And finally, all of the original ships will be included in your game since I am not removing them.
I have been testing the mod, and its still rather easy. I will probably be modifying the difficulty values more as I progress and get some better equipped ships from the community.
