ImTired I was never told they were the Borg in disguise.
Originally they were going to be an army of severely-toned-down Cosmolords with quirks and plot arcs. If I still made them that way, they would be a lot more passive-aggressive - infect some faction ships, forward their agenda, observe, learn, repeat until a glitch, get recalled, or destruction of Coreship (which at first weren't going to be so explosive).
In some sense, If Cosmolord did not become as notorious as it is still, the Collective would not be the Collective like it is now.
Amazing_Goob I will admit that was the first thing I thought of, but then I realized that Core-AI were not meant to be made so quickly - one of the reasons Argus-Maelstrom is a rogue Core. The best thing Ixornvas could be turned into is a Capital-Class Subcore - a more powerful iteration of regular subcores that come directly from this forumverse. However, I'm not going to even turn him into that. Not going to spoil it though.
((Bonus Lore: Noble-Maelstrom was made in the same Core-Factory Argus-Maelstrom was from (I'm considering that the canon reason how they get their 2nd part of their name now), but did not undergo an experimental process that was supposed to speed up the Core initialization process, however a fragment of that incident remained as a "memory" of that Core-Factory, and it was implemented into the initialization of Noble-Malestrom. That's why she prefers to get things done quick. Her giddy and eccentric behavior were completely random factors that I don't have a good reason for, tbh.))
