...you let the merchant in and find...well, a pile of scrap metal..."fine wares", you were about to send him out again, when something catched your attention, it seemed to be a part of one of those battleships you have found before, of course you could just buy that part and try to reconstruct it, or look if there´s any data left in it, see if it is of any use...or you could ask the merchant where he got that, which might cost a little bit more though...
