I feel this list is most complete of those in the thread so far, but maybe the weight ranges need adjustment. Smaller ranges for smaller ships, a little wider ranges for larger ones.
A Corvette spanning 300 tons takes make a huge difference when comparing something weighting 699 vs 400. The 699 is almost double the size and weight of the 400. The 699 would be 1.7 times the size of a 400. That's a big difference, especially for smaller ships.
But a 1600 cruiser and a 1999 cruiser only differs by 400, making the 1999 only 1.24 times as big.
Also, I'd add at least Heavy Cruiser to that list.
