An Explorer-Class beacon that has been laying dormant experiences a rise in energy as three drones, s31, c07 and d15 (because you never know with derelicts) approach it.
Being an adventurous little scout drone, s31 was about to poke it with a long-ish stick when the beacon transmitted a message. Since the Drones are... Drones, they can understand machine code rather well:

"This is Counter-Lambda, Explorer-Class AI of the Dimensional Collective speaking to you through this
Beacon... strange, you seem to harbor a similar AI-type sentience to us.
I'll make this quick: The current AI invading your space? The one with the Red-and-Black painted ships?
The AI controlling those ships has gone rogue, but the Figurehead and Almighty Core of the Collective
wants to mitigate the damage that AI is causing. You seem like a capable network of autonomous entities,
so we are giving you a gift of technology to assist with beating back this rogue AI. Transmitting now..."
It looks like schematics for better shield generators! They are circular, much like the one the Beacon is emitting now. Seems perfect for Defenders or much heavier Fighters.

After the transmission, she (at least "it" sounds like a "she", it's hard to tell with AI these days) deactivates the Beacon.
((You can use Bubbet's Placeholder for the circle shields. It shouldn't be too problematic of a mod and chances are you already have it anyway so...))
