My custom modded Drill Bomber
Spawn it far from a big enemy, then tell move it a little bit behind the target. Finally self-destruct the reactor on impact.

Warning to all...
These lastest updates may flaw your designs that use 3x1 armor slopes
Ex. Putting the slopes somewhere else in your design or disconnecting it.
Fix. Just pause the game, go into blueprint mode and fix the problems in the design.
Might affect some posted designs.

Even if don't celabrate Thanksgiving, I hope all had a good time, but I digress...
A vanilla construction station, even with all the tools available to a ship designer sometimes you need a to bring many materials togeter, this is a solution.
Use it if it helps.

Captain_Cranberry This looks like side barrages are it's greatest use, but the front and back look pretty vundrable to enemies.

Sometimes it seems better to just give up on trying to shield everything and go for enough fire power that any enemy wont be firing back for long.

Equalizer Looks kind of like a giant alligator mouth.
With giant cannon turrets, armor, and some shielding.
