Got two more ships if you guys dont mind upgrading it for me.
The first one has efficiency problems.
The second one just needs more mobility and a little more firepower.

Uzidrate I can find no way to feed a three wide ion beam array in front of three shields and no way to get close without either putting another two tiles between sets or offsetting them by nine tiles. Thus, shields have to be removed. Redundancies in the body of the ship have been removed to make space for internal armor. I widened the back slightly to make room for more engines to compensate for the weight increase and lengthened the side prongs to make space for engines in the front, which in turn required a slight change to their tip shape because they otherwise stuck just out of the FTL bubble.
The second can only be fixed by dramatically upscaling it to fit reverse thrust internally, changing its shape to expand the forward space to accommodate reverse engines, or changing its armaments. So the lasers went out for an ion beam and more electrobolts. As is common in my refits of your designs, shielding has to be sacrificed. Also, this time the price went up, which shouldn't be surprising since you wanted increased capabilities.
Upgrade my Glaive MK V please
simon1954 Armor damage is cheap to repair, but its always better to have shields to take as much of the damage as possible. But if you want to retain that 'shape' then there is probably not much that can be done to improve that. So you have to live with repairing armor all the time. But that is cheaper than repairing weapon systems.
Also, armor deep inside a ship really serves little purpose, since by the time the enemy is blasting that far into your ship, your pretty much toast anyway. Its better to ensure your crew can keep ammo in the guns and energy in the shields. If you slow that down, then your disabling your ship with poor performance.
And lastly, if your constantly moving your facing to the enemy, so the enemy is not always attacking one side of your ship, you can get away with less shields and power to that section, since it can recover when another side of your ship is attacking the enemy . The best way to know how efficient your ship is to have a long battle with another ship, and see which energy cores get lighting bolts on them, and which guns can't fire because they don't have available ammo.
i have been upgrading my ship for a long time but im bit stuck at the moment because there its so hard to find clear improvement points.
-those 2 side guns keep going un manned because of bad crew ai i have tryed adding more ammo factorys but they dont want to use them
Mk1
mk2 Tankier aproach but lacks some dmg and guns are taken down pretty fast
Mk3 try at middle ground
i have like 6 more earlyer versions
upgrade this
WenXiangLee Here is your third ship, greatly improved. It does cost 8,500 more, not a lot more. But it easily destroyed TWO of the original ships while taking only 4K in damages. I am not sure why the AI thought going sideways against your two ships was a good idea, so that is where the damage came from. Its also a lot more maneuverable with the two reverse engines.
You could remove two of the lasers to bring it closer to the original cost.
WenXiangLee I say don't bother with ammo storage, as long as you have your factories near your cannons they will get enough ammo.
improve this frigate
ship to improve (it is already good but you never know)
can ye improve this i want it to not be able to move but i added thrusters so it could turn
it can sometimes have chain reactions could you fix that
