I like it, modular ship design. just like how naval ships are built, in sections/blocks/moduals
I tried one time building with modules,,,,,, Did not end well, and tought it was a weird idea that never could be done properly, but here you are doing it...

panda Point defense could be an option too, especially with missiles being OP atm.
