Marina Della Nazione Ship "Quattro di Picche" would slowly travel through the ever sifting black soup of space. She was sent to investigate an odd report from a friendly merchant ship moving through the area. Rather suddenly, the ship would come across the oddity that had unfolded here. The Quattro di Picche's captain, Carlo Bergamini, would be greeted with quite the headache as the Quattro di Picche's radar sets would suddenly seem to have hit a wall; this wall would be the border of the oddity that once was Parendam Beta, however, this was unknown to Mr Bergamini.
Berganmini would order his radar operator to try and restore the signal. The radar sets on all of the Picche class cruisers operated at a very high frequency compared to those of other navies, and even the other ships of their navy. Due to the high operating frequency; The hindrance of detection systems caused by the oddity would cause the radar unit to be completely inoperable within the oddity.
Berganmini would be faced with a hard decision, enter and find what the hell was happening. Or remain safe and call for the Marchese, a much, much larger warship, to carry on with the Quattro di Picche's tasks. However, Mr Berganmini was a very well seasoned commander, serving several tours within the Marina Della Nazione, and the Marina Imperiale. He saw his new issue as something that could be averted, and against the better judgement of those around him within the Conning Tower, he gave the order to proceed with the mission.
The Bow of the Quattro di Picche would plunge into the oddity's border, the shields crackling as the ship's once blistering speed was slowed violently as the drag from the Oddity would hit the ship's hull. The shields luckily took the brunt of this force as Berganmini would, in a rather panicked manner, order the ship's speed to 1/3 ahead, greatly reducing the damage to the ship's rather un-aerodynamic hull form.
