The colors out of space (multi-faction-ish exploration event?)

A layer formed by little metallic buoys lies in front of the objects, signifying the boundary of the anomaly and sway as the boundary ebb and flows. Most detection only manages to penetrate meters into the anomaly, before scattering and retrieving no data of deeper composition.

The burly man who replied to Xar took off his glove and accept the hand.
"Hello, I'm the capt. Looks like yall already have a chat with my wife, eh?"
He turns and faces Xar.
"Did they do anything wrong to you?"
"Nah, just some information exchange in the conference room, as well as telling them where this all originates."
"Hm..."
He turns back and looks at the group, his outlook is a bit too primitive for the space era, with just jeans and a workshop apron, while two muscular arms the size of a small tree's trunk jut out from both sides, crossing in front of his chest while his eyebrows furrow.
"So...what are yall doing here anyway?"

Moving towards the perimeter of the anomaly, the 2 objects closed towards the liquid layer. Upon reaching the anomaly perimeter, the 2nd tube-shaped object began to spin rapidly, as it spun pulsed waves of energy radiated out from it and spread through the local area, as if the object was scanning the local area for other ships.
Seeing that there were no other ships about the objects both suddenly began to rise as the hole they emerged from enlarged to reveal their true origin...
A ship rose from the void, its curved and smooth hull colored in black and burgundy. Upon its forward deck a bridge structure rose smoothly upward, its sides marked with a symbol emblazoned in gold with its top holding the objects from earlier.
Upon emerging 4 hatches situated behind the bridge revealed themselves before momentarily disappearing in a cloud of exhaust as they launched what appeared to be missiles However, these missiles acted strangely as they sped quickly into the anomaly radiating pulsed waves of energy into the anomaly and between themselves.

Dimitri "We received information on a strange anomaly that was taking place here, many of our people were curious and so a fleet was sent out to find out whatever they can, and so here we are. We found your ship, and your lovely wife was gracious enough to allow us to board and answer a few of our question"

A disruption of the energy waves is received as the missiles cross the boundary of the strange buoys, but the following waves and rhythm remain normal and constant, at least for the first couple of minutes, before falling into complete silence as if the missiles disappeared...
After losing connection to its probes the ship began to travel around the edges of the anomaly whilst continually emitting its energy pulses, as it attempted to determine just how large this anomaly actually was

After who-knows-how-long sailing in the dark void, there doesn't seem to be the end to this anomaly. Estimating based on the curvature, it shows that such field is vasting across several known systems...and for some reason, when they return to their original point where they launch the missiles, that certain coordinate had already been inside the field, as if the anomaly is slowly expanding on its own...

Dimitri “Ah yes sorry, well we did get some question answered however when we asked about the… creatures that we saw out there we were told that you and your men have came across some yourselves, mind telling us what you yourself know and have seen about these creatures, any information will help with our adventures further into this anomaly”
Jared
"Ahh those ones, well its easier if you see it yourself."
He wave in one of the personnel, and take in one of the boxes before waving them off again. As he open the box, a white blob the size of a normal grouper lie dormant inside packed with ice, with a flat end where two rows of rectangular teeth can be found, but no apparent sensory organs.
"these things would simply charge at anything that is close to them... at least, when we notice them they are already charging towards us. But fortunately, they are quite vulnerable overall, plus they are edible as well, just make sure you don't use any sharp objects or they just explode in a bunch of shiny things."
"Hey that was an accident"
Someone shouts at the far back, possibly that poor fella who was involved in "said accident"
"Anyway, as for other creatures, recently we had spotted these blobs conglomerate together and form various shapes, although they prove to be way more effective at killing ships, their speed is slower as well, so whenever we detect one, we just haul our asses to the opposite direction."
Jared
(think you mean disgusting)
"Well as i had said, they charge at anything that come close to them, so we simply eject our trash and stun them by ramming into them, which is why we strapped extra engines onto the shuttle, of course, they are too small to be targeted independently, so usually we just charge into a swarm and hope for the best."
The capt turns to Dimitri.
"Although they don't have the best look, they actually taste like pork, more tender pork...with a hint of vinegar for some reason."
Dumb
Dimitri “That’s quite interesting. Guess only other question we have for you is how do you guys travel through all of this and find your way back? We would like to find the main system here and see if we can figure out the origins of all of this, but its quite difficult to travel through all of this”
The ship then moved above the anomaly, as a large door along the dorsal hull opened, from this a gantry arm could be seen reaching out into the anomaly. Clasped within the arm of the gantry was a number of containers that began to fill with the fluidlike material from the anomaly as the ship moved above the surface.

A screen upon the bridge illuminated with the pings, being linked from the main station up towards the screen for the captain to feast his eyes on directly. Each different shit within the pings suggests the strangeness of the seeming to sift surface. A drop of sweat rolled down the back of his neck. He becomes caustiouse as his order rings out.
"Combat shields, ready weapons for potential ship-to-ship combat."
The order echoes out as replies follow.
"All hands battlesstation, ship to ship combat prep." One station yells out. The acknowledgment of orders sounding off.
"Shields combat, ship to ship. Ready."
"Weapons armed, ship to ship, prepared."
power begins to shift across the cruiser vessel as power is routed around, less going to the engines and now more going to shields and a portion of energy going to weapons. The metallic groaning of gears as cannons shifted.
Encounter rolls shall start if continue to advance
The ship faces the anomaly with its bottom and still traverses in the same almost linear pattern as they were trying to traverse the edge. The scooping procedure is also unsuccessful, as literally nothing is retrieved, as if the anomaly isn't composed of material, but rather of a spacial phenomenon.

Right before the object comes into the range of visual detection, pings suggest several masses ejected from the object, heading laterally to both sides and soon disappearing from detection. The object, once on screen, is a very peculiar design, almost a long ovoid structure with blocks jutting out, a white banner on the top tip which says "Please Depart, do not come closer." in red. However, due to the lack of lighting, the actual appearance of the blocks are yet unknown, but as far as things went, there still hasn't been lock ons received by the fleet.
