After the Battle of Kes and the technological trade made between the Revian Federation and the HDC and Nue Gamilas, the Federation acquired a new way of FTL technology. This technology is wildly different from the normal tech used by the Federation. Where the ship lines up with an intersystem route where FTL is possible, then overdriving the engines to reach FTL speeds. Instead, this technology has the ship make a dimensional jump, completely bypassing the need for going faster than light. The Federation has since reverse-engineered this tech, courtesy of Gamilan blueprints, and created the dimensional drive. This drive is a short-range jump drive that requires very little fuel to use. And the drive is relatively small, being only 5m by 10m by 5m. Revian ships are already being retrofitted with this new technology. Soon, the entire fleet will be dimensional jump capable. Which will open up endless tactical maneuvers and shorten travel times.
