Back at the landing zone they were meeting heavy resistance. Supply drops were being constantly shot down, they had to endure artillery shelling and occasional attacks. The GBE forces began quick counterattacks before deciding to retreat due to layered defences and ambushes. The gunships acted as guardians. The UEG soldiers would notice that Bastonian units would always cheer when a gunship flew past. Soon they'd see why. While walking on patrol by the outskirts of the secure territory they could see the wreckage of entire TIE hovertank columns, prey for the gunships.
