The sub remained idle upon the surface to lick its battle injuries. A deployment of divers working to collect the samples while they ran repairs upon the vessel. The day passing as the horizon is illuminated by the lights of a ship. A movement of choppers moving towards the sub launched from a small carrier fleet that now approached. A large recovery vessel moving to lift the sub from the water into a large cargo hold upon the ship. The fleets movements then moving towards the main continent.

Back upon the base a number of colonial developments were taking place to develop a self sustaining colony upon the island chain, a number of fishing vessels, greenhouses, livestock were being made to offer a supply of food and crop. Trees being cleared for the construction of buildings. Large dockyard piers were being established to assist with the vessels usage. And the construction of the large submersible vessel happening within the largest yard as they moved to connect the ship and fit it out. Within the main largest island and base what seemed a large gun was being assembled. The large base a number of stories tall. A number of airfields also being established.

A number of seemingly asteroids begin to approach the planet and fall rapidly to the surface into the sea, the origin of the random things unknown but large in size and colliding into the ocean. They were metallic in structure but flew with an inability to identify.

Analyzing the pieces their appears to be several unrecognizable materials within the large hide "armor" of the creature or rather shell it seemed, apart from the projects that needed testing at larger facilities the creature seemed to have naturally formed steel and some sort of acidic blood within breaking down whats its placed on.

The rocks smash into the ocean falling slower then what might be expected as around them several dozen of the "whales" begin to swim towards them, seemingly attracted by the metallic nature of the rocks their eyes gleaming though the deep ocean blues as the light gets bent and formed with the waves yet bending back to what would be the lights original position.

The parts slide together quite well giving their own satisfying thumps as they enclose themselves however as the fusion reactor begins to power on and spin up something quite interesting is noticed, the reactor is reporting higher energy output then regular by around 5-10% a large margin given the scale causing some interesting wrestling with reactor controls as to not fry the junction boxes and infrastructure round the base.

Additionally the crew of said base as they assemble the facility spot a small cloud of steam puffing out of the water followed by small currents and bubbles around it, appearing in rhythmic bursts with every change of direction the cloud of smoke makes as it treads around the "lake"

The TH-75 Lifts off and latches onto the Mortar before lifting it up and slotting it into the base. The Excess power is routed to the radiators near the back of the base while all systems are fully operational. The Helo lands on the helipad once more and recharges its batteries. The Scout ATV is put into a small garage where a small machine gun is attached to its front. A Marine starts up the ATV and begins scouting south. A Squad of marines walk up to the edge of the water to grab water for filtration, and they notice the bubbling. One goes closer to check it out but does not enter the water.

As the standard operations are being carried out and the marines go to look towards that distant smoke water splashes as it changes its direction. a bunch of droplets of scolding water being flung towards the men nearest to the lake. As they look back towards the blob as it passes them they see a single glowing yellow eye peaking out of the smoke towards them, before disappearing back into the lake this time plunging itself further in escaping the visual range of the marines only left to question what that "thing" was.

The fleet that recovered the sub and continued their movement had a fleet of one aircraft carrier, two supply ships, one recovery ship, seven destroyers, two cruisers and a dozen frigates. Along with two amphibious assault ships that where flat top carrier like vessels. A number of gunships on their deck. The fleet continuing its advance towards the main continent.
Back at the colony a number of buildings were being established including field yards and supply depots storing parts and ammunition. Along the island edges a number of radar stations were being established, and towers that kinda seemed like cell towers were being established that began linking communication between the different islands.

The unidentified metallic object began moving in the water, like they were attracted to each piece as they seemed to attach into a giant underwater asteroid. A spike of energy beginning to generate within it.

One of the marines gets some of the water on him and yells in pain, firing a single shot into the lake. He is chastized a bit for firing wildly and then let go. The ATV Continues Moving south for a while before returning to base and transferring the gathered data to the map in the prefab base. After some time the marines cautiously approach the water, and one by one grab a bucket full each and hastily return to filter it in the base. Meanwhile a scientist along for the ride begins to take soil samples.

Supplies and rations are as requested coming towards the planet and the men begin to take camp in and around their vehicles, they hear a large BANG in the distance a small chunk of steel hitting a light tank bouncing off its bottom armor and cutting through its track. However their was no explosion in sight only a single piece of steel coming from the coast line, it had to have gone over a mountain with its trajectory perhaps they where under attack?

"SCHEIẞE, WIR WERDEN BESCHOSSEN, RUNTER!"
Within seconds years of armored warfare training kicked in as the tanks formed a defensive position, commanders jumped back in their tanks and slammed the hatches shut, the hit tank only being able to turn using one track but doing so to show maximum armor to the direction the projectile came from.
The armored cars scrambled behind the tanks, their back doors opening and soldiers pouring out, who formed a defensive perimeter, while inside one of the light tanks the lead commander used his instruments to triangulate the position that the shot came from. After around half a minute the four 38cm barrels of the tanks raised in a medium degree angle and... fired.
The shockwave threw up the mud around the tanks, even clearing up a few brushes in the immediate vicinity. Hissing through the skies the four shells made their way over the horizon, towards wherever the shot had come from.. And at the same time inside the tanks new shells were loaded into the breeches.
Whistling through the air, the shells would rain death upon anything they came in contact with..

The shells perfectly aimed fly on target the mighty 15 inch tank guns making devastating splashes into the ocean as they harmlessly fall, undetonated and simply wasted unceremoniously however soon it seemed they would have something to shoot at...

a gust of air flies past the soldiers the small trees on pog breaking and snapping in its wake as it felt as if a small tornado came up behind them the broken bits of branch curving past them as weak sticks smash into exposed soldiers, then as soon as it came the wind stopped the men hear a subtle tapping in the distance coming towards them in a rhythmic almost calculated pattern.

Clank Clank Clank Clank Clank...

A distinct sound of metal smashing against lifeless rock slowly whirling towards them facing against where the wind came as the air around the soldiers characterized as a moist hot climate, subtly shifts to a colder damp mess the very sounds around them gurgling gasping for air as if their being drowned out by sheer dread as that force that lays behind them nears closer and closer.

The vessels heading towards the mainland off the coast spot a surfaced metallic creature bleeding and battered beaching itself on a... well a beach as it slams into the sand, its corpse inflating a bit before "popping" a massive bang could be heard as some bits of its corpse fly towards the fleet splashing around in the water. More notably however several shells seemingly naval gun caliber begin splashing down near the whale, as if their where shore batteries present and firing at the seemingly threatening explosion and debris.

The marines do manage to get their water before that annoying ball of steam came over to interrupt them however upon filtering the water something interesting is found, the water contains unusually high amounts of metal specifically mercury as well as some small ceramic shards seemingly broken off the area near the lake. However before this could be considered rain began to fall and further operations in the muddy terrain of pog would be quite hard, even just due to the possibility of equipment failure giving the men time to consider their surroundings in the cool damp air.

"Aufsitzen! In die Panzer!"
Having replaced the track, the soldiers jump into their vehicles, their commander barking some orders over comms at the drivers..
The guns turn towards the potential threat, their gunners strapped behind the sights, ready to fire on command.. the machine gunners swing their armaments around from the safety of the tank, comms get locked and newly encrypted over protocols, and the convoy turns 90° to the north, now facing perpendicular to the oncoming noise, and starts hauling ass northwards, towards the mountain chain. The plan: Gain an elevated position so whatever the fuck is coming can actually be seen before it is half a metre infront of them..
20 km/h.. 30.. 40.. 60.. 80.. the convoy gains speed as the Daimler engines raise their RPMs and force the vehicles through the boggy and overgrown terrain.. breaking through the brush in its way.

Standing upon the bridge of the carrier that lead the task force. The captain of the vessel looked upon the beach with his pair of binoculars. The fleet held off the coast by 10 miles. The carrier deck occupied by multiple personnel and jets. A squadron is beginning to be formed upon the catapults as they are loaded for a multi role operation. With a metalic hiss as they are accelerated upon the catapults. Launching the planes into the air.

Numbering in five planes as they formed into a wedge formation. The lead plane taking lead as they fly towards the shore. Looking to investigate the area, one plane being equipped with a camera pod and radar with ecm pod along with it as it began to sweep over the beach and area.

The Group returns to the electrically heated base and hunkers down, as rain catchers are set out, capturing more water to be filtered. Seeing the mercury in the water, it is decided the mercury and ceramic will be studied a bit to see if it is actually Mercury, and what the ceramic couldve come from, while the water is filtered more than just once. The Helicopter is covered with a tarp to protect from the downpouring rain.
