The artillery units got caught in the crossfire, being completely disintegrated.. a last corvette tried to turn and jump, but got shredded as the drives spooled up. Kriegsflotte 5's artillery segment's new status: KIA.
On the bridge of the Panzerschiff "Seekuh" Großadmiral Schindlhauer, informed by frantic shouts of his bridge crew of the reinforcements, reached into his coat, taking out a cigarette and lighting it while breaking out into a slight smile.
"Männer, Ruhe."
The tumult did not quiet down, so, taking out the cigarette from the corner of his mouth, he raised his voice:
"RUHE!"
Suddenly the bridge quieted down, with the crew turning towards him, looking at him with mixed emotions, confused, some scared, some eager for battle.
"Diese Verstärkung dort.. -he points through the bridge window at the GBE's new reinforcements- ..wird sehr bald nicht mehr dort sein. Wir haben noch ein Ass im Ärmel."
Smiling, he put the cigarette back into the corner of his mouth, starting to give out fleet commands on what Kriegsflotte 5 were to do, and communicated with Großadmiral Volkers of Kriegsflotte 8 on their plans.. which were shortly put into action:
The Me-2262 fighters kept soaring towards the missiles, unheeding of the danger, as their fellow pilots burst into flames, and then, when they reached the crucial distance... fired their interception void missiles. From each of the several dozen of fighter jets a singular missile launched from the left wing, then a second from the right wing. But the missile split up into a ten smaller missiles after a very short distance of flight, and so racing towards the ICBMS was a fast approaching, spreading out cluster of more than 250 intercepting missiles, rigged to explode in proximity of the ICBMS.
The main fleet segments of Kriegsflotten 5 and 8 turned fully to face the GBE reinforcements and flared out into battle formation, doing what the German Navy could do best: Form a firing line. Ready the heavy artillery. Fire an earth-shattering volley. Reload. Repeat the last two steps ad infinitum.
And so it did happen. As the massive guns were cranked around and set on target, the reload cycle completed, and as the firing command was issued from the lead ship, the whole fleet rocked back in recoil, the guns propelling their deadly load out of the bores towards the enemy fleet..
Kriegsflotte 5 and 8 were now fully engaging the enemy, lighting up their fleet with all they could muster, but it was all according to plan.
Appearing only faintly as slight errors on the british FTL scanners, almost perfectly mimicking the interference of solar flares, a few signals very shortly appeared and disappeared quickly..
In the cramped command room of Boot 92 it was eerily quiet, with red light faintly lighting up the inside. Standing with his hands resting on the map table on the side of the room, Führer Steinfeld observed the captain of the vessel observing the space infront of them through optical enhanced sensors... Those were less likely to attract attention and could not be traced. The powerful camera zoomed in farther and farther as the captain swung the scope around and panned along the English fleet.
"Lohnenswerte Ziele allerlei.. Zwei besonders."
Taking a spotting book of GBE ships to hand and flicking through it, he stopped on one page.
"Die Form ist's. 'Sunrise'-Klasse Kreuzer, dicke Brummer."
Not looking away from the targets, gave orders.
"Zwei auf den einen, zwei auf den andern. Die anderen Boote sollten dasselbe tun."
Nodding, several crewmembers began typing in calculations into their machines while in the front of the boat the four front torpedo tubes went through a final check..
"Rohr Eins bis vier klar!"
Rubbing his hands, the captain nodded a bit, then breathed in, exhaling slowly while checking through everything... In a few seconds the first field test of this new weapons system would begin.
