Kriegsflotte 5 & 8, conventional segment.
As the last surviving cruise missile got past the fighter screen layed out by the GSR fleets, it now finally was introduced to one of the core strengths and personalities for the German Kriegsmarine:
FlaK. It's FlaK. Abhorrent amounts of fast firing, big-bore FlaK.
An almost literal wall of proximity fuse HE rained towards the cruise missile, with several destroyers and small cruisers focus firing all their FlaK onto it. There would be no question about the eradication of this missile, the only question remained, if it was quick enough..
Meanwhile the German Armada panned out slightly, moving forwards. No place to run, no place to hide, with a methodical slow march the German line moved onwards, rhythmically firing all guns onto the enemy in volleys, using the whole amount of guns to funnel the enemy into kill lines by focus firing in a way that a singular ship would not be able to avoid the incoming fire no matter where it turned before focussing on the next ship. The British guns did a number on the Kriegsmarine fleet though, as the coilgun batteries hammered into the heavy German armor, merely denting and scratching the bows of the larger cruisers and battleships, but a few found their way into softer targets: destroyers and corvettes. Several went up in flames as a result. This amount of losses was to be expected though, and the armada kept its trotting pace, showing no signs of stoppage.
The stale air in the command room of Boot 92 was dry and heated, an almost eerie quiet layed upon the boat. The glistening sweat on the captains brow reflected the red light illuminating the interior of the room while he made final calculations. A whisper moved through the ship, reaching the captain.
"Rohr 1 bis 4 klar zum Echtraumschuss."
The answer came as a whisper back.
"Verstanden. Rohr 1 bis 4 Feuererlaubnis."
..."Rohr 1 bis 4 fertig!"
... There as a short pause before the final command was given..
"Rohr eins bis vier - Los!"
In short succession, almost entirely unnoticeably, four torpedoes were mechanically slung out of opened hatches in the front of the boat, with the scanner footrprint of the boat being slightly larger in these moments.. then the hatches closed again, and the engines of the torpedoes engaged, sending them towards the enemy heavy cruisers.. The torpedoes did not travel fast like missiles, instead the almost drifted towards their target, using low power thrusters to steer themselves into position while slowly accelerating faster and faster using little thrust.. If they were to be noticed it would be an easy task of destroying them, but for that they needed to be noticed at all in the first place, in the midst of battle..
A total of 28 torpedoes was to be launched, but Boot 71 suffered total launch failure, with no torpedoes launched, and Boot 106 and Boot 95 both suffered singular launch failure.. bringing the total down to 22 launched torpedoes, with 12 going towards the HMS Capable and 10 having the HMS Jurisdiction as their target..
Meanwhile in the command room there was a bustling noise of work again as the captain ordered a turn and retreat into subspace in order to reload the torpedo tubes and relocate to a new position:
"Anlauf erfolgreich. Daten an Hauptflotte übermitteln und dann abtauchen für Neuberüstung und bereitmachen für neuen Anlauf."
"Jawohl!"
And just like that, one after another, the boats turned sideways, it almost looking like they scattered like insects, their drives readying for transition to subspace..
