Upbringing
In the past Earth broke into all out war, this was because of the violent actions of the People's Republic of China. as the United Nations scrambled to react to the nation's declaration of war. War raged on for 18 years, which sent the world into deficit and chaos. The United Nations was disbanded, and 5 nations rose above the rest in the end. These nations were the United American Union, the Soviet Republic of Russia, the Germanic Union of Europe, the Islamic Arab State, and the Democratic Union of the Congo. These surviving countries formed the Terran Alliance as to ensure the world isn't plunged into war the same way it was then. 75 years later the Terran Alliance, along with the human race, stands stronger than ever. As humanity takes it's first steps into the distant systems technology and society advances faster than ever.
Tech Level
The Terran Alliance along with FTL travel uses a form of hyperspace travel called "Inter System Teleportation" or IST. This form of hyperspace travel teleports the ship to a designated system. But due to the high energy need of preforming this it is only usable from a system or two away. In terms of ship armament the Alliance uses a mix of cannons ,bombs, and missiles. And while shield technology exists it's currently experimental and unpractical.
Government
The Terran government varies between nation to nation, with communist dictatorships, democracies, and fascist parties. But the Terran Alliance itself runs off voting system, where when a law or movement is presented each nation's leader will vote on it, resulting in a decision.
Territory
The Terran Alliance currently controls 3 systems, Sol it's home system and capital, Alpha Centauri, the Alliance's first colony and home of most of it's infrastructure, and Barnard's System, the newest system, which has yet to be colonized.
Economy
The current economy is booming.
