hmm what if you made a ship that had layers?
like a layer of weapons and such, and then behind that layer, another layer of weapons, that way when one layer get destroyed out pops more weapons
that would be a cool idea
but i have my doubts
it would be really hard for a 2d game Walt would probably have to make the game 3d in order to do that. but it is possible

craziboi Try filling in the corner gaps, or maybe have it split into multiple ships by placing explosives on the corner connecting the 4 ships.
craziboi oh i thought you meant having 1 gun in the same place but when its destroyed another gun is created on the same spot.
ZendikaroftheWest there are explosives to split the ship and it's just a proof of concept. its not meant to be super-efficient, it's just meant to work

oh so you are making the vulture good job altho the vulture in elite only has 2 large hard points so remove all the weapons except the cannons.
