The one aspect of the ship design that I'm not a big fan of is the endless supply of missiles and bullets. Realistically ships would carry a limited supply that would be used up in battle and would need to resupply. Even considering the ammo and missile factories, the raw materials would run out at some point as well. I think having missiles and bullets have a limit would add interesting tactical considerations to ship designs.

Take note of the Trello/Future plans outline. The 1.0 update will incorporate a resource and basic crafting system, along with limited ammo manufacturing capabilities, at least for the new single player mode.
i think they should be left the way the are because then the ships would have huge amounts of ammo ships and in bounty mode you start out with not to much but a right amount. But sense you are probably going to be using a lot of that money into ammo storage then your ship will be filled with ammo but mainly i like endless ammo supply it is more realistic tho you got a point!
i also wondering what fuel is the reactor using and what is the battery since it can make plasma
