The Kel fleet that had sandwiched the UDM defense fleet was quickly responded too. The ships rotated again, so that one broadside, the least damaged side that was not facing the UEG destroyers, was facing upwards towards the covenant group, and so the more damaged side was facing the fleeing UNSC. The full potential of the firepower was now in use. The EMP missiles and general fire from the Redford ships crossed with the UEG mac fire and standard fire and powerful covenant plasma railguns and the mortars. The UDM ships had issues with evading the two way fire. A plasma mortar struck the second dominion heavy cruiser on its right prong, then a mac shell penetrated the melting armour so debris was launched at lethal speeds into the armour of the left prong as the right prong was knocked of the ship completely and started drifting away, firing a short while until the weapons ran out of power and died. The two destroyers went ahead and took point so that their PD could protect the larger heavy cruisers. The fleet was taking a beating but it was now it could start punishing the enemies to even the playing field.
”Captain our fighters are losing.”
”Pull them out. Remove the plasma charge on the railgun shells and replace them with burst explosives, I have another trick.”
The railgun turrets swiveled towards the main UDM and Redford fleet at long range. The shells were not surrounded by plasma as normally, and they were about to pass through the raging fighter battle with considerable spacing between the shells. The UDM fighters were already outnumbered and were losing, and started diverting power to their FTL drives as a tiny, weak blue aura started glowing in front of the maneuvering UDM strike craft busy fighting the enemy.
Redford bombers were closely pursued, while the separate fighter group assigned to chasing the bombers had to divert themselves into defending themselves from the Redford escort and attacking the bombers.
The heavy cruisers started banking towards the Kel fleet, raining fire hit the turning ships resulting in explosions and damage across the hull with the combined fire of Redford, UEG and covenant weapons fire. The retaliating fire whipped at the defenses at the nearby rebel fleets.
The lone heavy cruiser in the asteroid field moved between the asteroids closely. The asteroids made routes for missiles limited as they can only choose a set of chokepoints between each asteroids to move forward, allowing point defense to easily lock down said small chokepoints, intercepting the EMP missiles first. The conventional missiles aren’t as prioritized and started to slip through the defenses, hitting the ships shield. The heavy cruiser started charging its spinal weapon and continued navigating through the asteroid-field so that it could be within range of the Redford ships.
The arriving lone frigates now launched their fighters in haste, hoping to stop the bombers from doing to much damage.
The tempests slip past undetected and engage one of the destroyers. As they fire their payload their point of attack is detected and point defense immediately unleash a barrage at the area which the tempests fired from. The missiles hit a radiator which shattered and penetrated into the hull under it. A deep wound.

They were greeted by an officer in a uniform who saluted them. He took the chip, inserted into into a small rectangular device and confirmed it was real.
”Come with me.” he said in a strong accent.
”This is an important military station for the ark home assigned federal forces.” he said will walking then down a corridor in the station. ”It is here we conduct our operations to stop crises like the one we’re facing.”
They turned a corner and was met by what seemed to be a senior officer or any type of higher rank. He immediately looked concerned and interrupted the officer.
”What are you doing?” the senior officer said, ”Your job was to lead them to the briefing room, not give them a tour guide.”
”I apologize, sir. I got carried away.” he turned to the Germans. ”this way.”
They were taken into a large room with multiple very comfy-looking seats, some already adapted to the Germans sheer size and weight, around a table from some sort of rare rock material. At the end there was a massive screen, probably used to display information. Three men were sitting at the end of the table towards said screen.
”Ah, we have awaited you arrival.” said the middle one. ”Take a seat.”
