A: "Enemy Fighters are Pulling Back"
SM: "Hmm, They are planning something.. Keep pressing the assault, today we will reign vic-"
The Ship Shakes violently as Fire from the UDM fleet slams into the hull of the ship, melting outer layers of armor as the external carbon fiber is unable to hold back the array of weapons the UDM is firing towards their enemies.
A: "One hull breach has been detected, as well as extensive damage to the armour, plasma defense grids are failing to hold back this much fire. I would advise aiming railguns towards enemy weapons in attempts to disable them."
SM: "Very well."

Combat

The kel'thulian fleet, slightly battered from the volleys of fire, begin to aim railguns towards UDM weapon emplacements, as well as Energy projectors attempting to stop enemy projectiles from hitting by firing towards the barrels of weapons and munitions launchers in advance, hoping to melt the projectiles, even if not much damage can be done to the weapons themselves by simple plasma.

UDM fleet was shaking. The amount of fire that was bombarding them from multiple directions ripped out parts of the hull and disabled minor subsystems.
The captain however still had a few cards up his sleeve and he was about to use them. Now it was time to run the tide into their favor.
”Supercharge the FTL drives on those strike craft and jump them over here at my mark.”
As the railgun shells approached the raging fighter battle, one could notice the spacing between shells had them be spread out evenly across the entire combat area.
”Mark!”
The UDM fighters turned towards the UDM fleet, some being destroyed as they diverted their noses onto the friendly fleet and space bent around them for just a second before the blue light intensified and the fighters were gone. The UDM fighters had made an FTL jump back to their fleet and before the rebel pilots could register… a bright flashing of light. The railgun shells, which were each loaded with cluster burst nuclear munitions, had detonated in a massive storm of nuclear explosions across the entire combat area of the fighters. The UDM fighters arriving safely formed up into formation as the explosions raged behind them leaving only destruction. Now more fighters were arriving from the separate frigates in the distance to reinforce the highly damaged fighter force which they had. Now that they were with their fleet, they immediately, with overwhelming numbers, started engaging the Redford and UEG bombers. The patrol craft had now fully grouped up.

In the asteroid belt the heavy cruiser was in a tricky situation. Each asteroid that it would hide behind would eventually start drifting into a collision course with the heavy cruiser. This meant it always had to be moving leaving it open to attack every time it had to move. The captain thought the longer that progressed the worse their situation would get. He made a quick decision. Maybe even a suicidal one.
”All defence shields forward. Focus power to shields and charge that spinal weapon. Set course straight into those Redford ships. Charge! No asteroid will stand in the way of the DSN Xavier!”
The massive ship swung it’s entire hull around and the dimly lit thrusters roared to life with a flame of pure plasma pushing the beast forwards between the asteroid. Rocks and asteroid debris started flying left, right and centre, cracking and bouncing on the protective shields as the ship advanced.

KrankysFirebrand48 4 of the bombers attacked the frigate, dropping their payloads to try and get them inside the hangar that the enemy fighters were just launching out of. Hopefully, by the time the fighters were just exiting the hangar the bombs would make their way into the hangar before any hangar doors could be shut. As the bombs fell, their large rocket engines sprang to life as to help them propel faster to the target. The rest of the bombers, many ducking and weaving throughout the constant hail of fire, continued their attack runs to the enemy capital ships. The loud THOOM of the rocket engines springing to life notioned the fact the bombs were dropped. 5 went for one of the Heavy Cruisers, while 12 went for the Destroyers. Out of the 40 bombers that made up the first wave of attack, 8 were shot down and 3 had to abort their runs.

Meanwhile

The advancing Redford Battleships made it to a good position for a cross-fire. The cruisers, finally making it to the asteroid belt, detected the enemy ship in the asteroid belt.
Sparing no second, the Captain of the first force ordered both the Battleships and the Cruisers to open fire on the enemy ships' location, regardless of any asteroids in the way. The reasoning was simple. If they were to open fire while in cover, it'd make the advancing vessel break off their attack. If they continued to advance, the large chunks of blasted-out asteroids would make it extremely dangerous to advance.

KrankysFirebrand48 The tempests slip past undetected and engage one of the destroyers. As they fire their payload their point of attack is detected and point defence immediately unleashes a barrage at the area from which the tempests fired from. The missiles hit a radiator which shattered and penetrated into the hull under it. A deep wound.

As the Tempests pass over the ship, dropping their payload they attempt to dodge the fire of the anti-aircraft guns that had just started to fire upon them. As they pass through weaving the shell fire, the Tempest that was in the last position of the bombing run had its right side angled wing explode causing the craft to roll into an uncontrolled spiral and into the enemy ship's hull. The pilot had no chance to escape.

The bridge on the main cruiser erupts in a roar of excitement. "Tempests report a critical hit" one of the bridge officers exclaims.

The Tempests resume stealth protocols and head home.

KrankysFirebrand48 By the time the patrol craft had made it back to their ships and out of the hangars, the remaining Redford bombers had dropped their payloads. The fighter pilots would see dozens of bombs hurtling towards their ships, while the Bombers had already started returning to their carriers for a second wave.

Meanwhile

The Redford heavy cruisers, unbeknownst to them, had created a perfect pincer movement against the enemy cruiser. The Battleships, now almost cleared the area in between them and the cruiser of large asteroids, had almost a perfect firing line. While the smaller asteroids might still provide cover from a shot or two, it'd be almost impossible for the cruiser to hide for a long period of time. Moreover, the Redford Cruisers had just launched more EMP missiles toward the enemy cruiser. While it'd be tricky to missiles to navigate the asteroid field, the fact that most of the area had been blasted out by gun-fire helped matters for Redford.

KrankysFirebrand48 The tempests remain cloaked and return home.

The UEG fleet continues its barrage on any enemy ships that remain. The point defences mounted heavily on each ship wait for any targets quietly. Each turret was equipped with an AI and could be enhanced with the ships main smart ai to increase the effectiveness of them.

The Fighters fall in droves as the fleet watches in horror. They are given the order to fall back, but it is too late for most of them. The Kel'thulians fighters have been crippled, only a faction remaining. As the UDM bring their prows to face the Kels, the charge along the spines appears again, plasma forming into an unstable ball at the end of the projectors. It keeps charging and growing until a massive wave of energy sends out to the largest ships in the UDM fleet, blue streaking across the void until they either fly true and find their mark, or miss.

The captain smiles as he sees the enemy fighters being obliterated by his strategy. The returning Redford bombers start getting chased by the overwhelming number of fighters. The UDM ships launched bombers from whatever hangars weren't in ruins or on fire as enemy shots passed through hangars eating through the ships soft inside tissue and causing fires and explosions. As the Kel ships charge the energy projectors and prepare to fire the DSN Trident boosted their yaw to that their spinal weapon was aimed directly at the projector. As the projector fired the captain DSN Trident ordered the spinal weapon to fire. A massive ball of hot plasma launched from between the two burning and battered prongs of the heavy cruiser on a collision course with the projectors own plasma projectile.

The patrol craft launched to go across the long battlefield towards the rebel fleets at long range.

In the asteroid belt the Redford firing line and pincer were highly effective. The forward-focused shields were quickly downed by the EMP missiles as fire ate away at the hull. The cannons hit the ship with immense force before one shell passed directly into the charging spinal weapon. The spinal weapons charging EMP blast was released inside the ship disabling it entirely. Floating dead, still drifting forward the disabled UDM heavy cruiser was entirely at the mercy of the Redford ships. They had control over the asteroid belt.
*It was important that the rebels did not forget their objective here. If they did not move now, they would not have enough time to destroy the more distant targets.

"Here's the deal. The DSN Trinity is one of the finest and most powerful vessels ever built. In order to retake we need a long campaign of attricion. Luckely we know of their supply lines. They're being supported by nations that wish to destroy us. We just need you to assault the next major torpedo and point defence ammo supply shipment and we'll be one step closer to taking the beast head on."

As the German officers and folk took their seats, visibly appreciating the adjustments to their size, the second-in-command of Lütje nodded affirmatively after the General had given him a handsign, and took out his tablet, typing something on it before hitting send. The message was not seeable by anyone but him..

Meanwhile Lütje leaned forwards and put his hands on the table, gesturing with one hand towards the middle man.
"Greetings. As you may have been informed already, mein Name is General Heinz Lütje, and ve have been sent here by zhe Oberflottenkommando of zhe Kriegsmarine of zhe German Space Regime to... set vhat is right and eradicate zhe uprising you are currently experiencing. Now, let us make zhis short and meaningful, as zhe enemy grows in numbers regarding soldiers as vell as firepower."
He looks inquisitively at the gathered trio.

"Do you know vhere zhis shipment vill pass and by whom it is crewed? You said zhere are other nations helping zhem, is zhat shipment crewed by zhem or by rebels? Ve are not here to start a galactic war, ve are her to squash a rebellion.*
He leans back a bit.

KrankysFirebrand48 The Redford Battleships continued on, hoping to continue to their objectives. However, the cruiser captain decided that the dead vessel could be returned to power. This culminated in the cruisers shooting off their main guns and missiles into the engines of the damaged ship. After the cruisers fired off a few salvos, they went on to regroup with the advancing fleet.

The bombers, while being swarmed, were already halfway to their carriers and its escorts. However, the enemy fighters soon saw the immense number of Long-range anti-craft guns opening up on Redford's vessels. One of the many escorts, a Light Cruiser nicknamed "The Porcupine", was the closest to the approaching fighters and was able to fire off its missiles.
It should be noted that a majority of the anti-craft guns, with the exception being the carriers, carry both a multitude of dual-purpose guns AND a multitude of anti-munition weapons. Moreover, most Redford crews have combat experience of shooting down aircraft/spacecraft due to pirate attacks, as public records state.

The Lance of the Twilight Fervor flies through the sky, colliding with the ball of plasma from the trident, splitting into thousands of tiny, harmless beams that light up the void. the Projectiles collide with eachother for a while before both fizzle out and die, neither harming the other side. meanwhile the less powerful lances of the other ships keep flying for the DSN Fleet.

The Fleet Heads on full burn towards the original objective, railguns and plasma mortars still firing at their marks within the dominion vessels' ranks.

What the Kel may have forgotten was that there were two ships charging their spinal weapons. The second heavy cruisers now with only one prong fired its spinal plasma gun at the enemy capital ships as they started escaping. The DSN fleet now started travelling towards the Redford in the distance at full burn while sustaining heavy fire from shells, missiles and energy weapon fire. The ships were heavily vibrating as the engines pushed the rotting carcasses that were the hole filled UDM defensive fleet. Seeing the effectiveness of the Redford anti-craft weapons the UDM strike craft turned around and started racing to all engage the advancing Kel fleet. Their intent: intercept and destroy.
The engines of the DSN Xavier were disabled and destroyed.

"Mercs. Those nations are full of cowards. They dare not face us directly. They do not either wish to start a direct conflict as they would know it would end in a crushing defeat and the injuring of their economies. They're hiring people to do run supplies. As part of the "galactic community" and supporters of "international co-operation", they are under galactic laws that prohibit them from putting any blame on you for destroying these mercs because then they would be admitting to hiring mercs against us."

KrankysFirebrand48 The anti-aircraft guns silence themselves, as the rest of the bomber squadron made it back. Thanks to the enemy fighters, 3 more bombers had been lost. However, a second wave was being prepped, with 20 bombers starting up. The carrier force, in general, had been moved ever so slightly closer to the engagement, as it was hoped the long-range fire of the anti-craft guns could at least make it hard for enemy fighters to follow allied bombers back to the carriers. The cruisers had actually been pushed out further than the rest of the carrier force, getting close enough to the enemy to fire off some more long-range EMP missiles.

The Advancing Redford Forces had noticed the enemy fleet pushing right towards them. The captain forced the Battleships to begin firing their secondary battery guns, to provide cover-fire for the cruisers to continue toward their main targets. This didn't prevent the cruisers from firing off their own cannons as well. Soon enough, the anti-munition/anti-craft guns on the Mortar-Class Cruisers had begun opening up on the few remaining asteroids. The multitude of hits on the asteroids broke them up into something like a dust cloud, providing cover for the Redford forces while the Carrier force relayed the enemy's positions. This allowed Redford to continue firing off their cannons and missiles while breaking the line of sight. The Redford Battleships even activated short-ranged signal jammers for a multitude of frequencies as to try and throw off enemy detection systems.

The plasma collides with the Twilight fervor, ripping apart armour plating and killing crew. Fires rage as explosions go off, internal systems being destroyed. Afterwards, the damaged ship and its fleet pushes on, returning fire with the countless plasma railguns, the rings of plasma forming afront them and shooting forwards, glowing shells of depleted uranium and tungsten shooting forth towards the UDM lines. Plasma cannons open up on the UDM strike craft, bolts of the hot blue substance zipping through the void. The Kel'thulian fleet continues towards their objective...

Lütje scratches his chin slightly and then nods.
"As long as zhat is true, ve vill have no problem... taking care.. of zhem. Send us zheir routes and ve vill be on our way."
He stands up, his men readying to leave.

The aproaching UDM fleet was quickly burnt through by the Redford fire. The exhausted ship taking many missiles and projectiles that made their way into the ships soft interiors and destroyed vital systems. The ships' lights flickered off, chunk were torn off by force and fuel tanks and reactors detonated. The frigates thick shell was penetrated. Fire came in from the sides tearing through its broadside so that explosions raged on the other broadside. The fleet was stopped in its tracks and eliminated. The alarms on the DSN Trident were flaring. The metal container the captain was trapped in was falling apart. This was the end. A MAC round came in and obliterated the bridge.
Patrol boats, fighters and the remaining frigate engaged the Kel fleet heading for the mines knowing that they had nowhere to return to.

UDM side

"The last know location of the DSN Trinity is in the Phortus nebula near the Dominion of Arc. We know that they are rallying ships there. Send a fleet there as soon as possible. All our recourses are focused on repelling hit and run attacks. Note that our reports have confirmed that you will not encounter the DSN Trinity in your mission, assuming you should operate at reasonable speeds and depart at once."

The Kel' ships had taken a beating, ships across the fleet with small holes in the armour and collapsed inner layers, but overall minimal losses of life aside from the massacred fighters, and no destroyed ships. They keep advancing to the mines, the fleet fires some of its smaller railguns on the frigate and patrol boats, while keeping all other weapons systems from firing until they arrive at the mine.
