Unfortunately for the miners, the soldiers finally assembled the Micro. And pointed it straight at the Ion Core.
The Micro H.I.D. (mobile High-Intensity plasma Discharge thrower) is an experimental short to medium-range weapon developed by The Unralith Empire. When the trigger is pulled a 5-second charge sequence will be initiated (which can be canceled with a button next to the trigger). When the charge is complete, the Micro H.I.D. will release an intense beam of plasma that will ark in a lightning-like fashion and travel about 30 meters. This act will use an entire charge cell, which can be exchanged with another by pushing the cell ejection button that is also near the trigger. The charge cells are highly volatile and will explode if critically damaged- they are very hard to build. The Micro H.I.D. is incredibly effective against physical armor while even the weakest energy shields will be able to take the hit and protect the person being fired at. A light tank will be easily destroyed by this weapon, while heavy tanks will be able to take the whole shot unless it is fired completely in one of the universal weak spots. This weapon is incredibly loud and can be heard when it is being charged or fired.
They fired. The audible hurring of the beam of plasma was audible throughout the station. The soldiers didn't really care about the rising temperature, as their suits were fully sealed and heat resistant... and it was all about to drop. The EMP effect of the weapon and a few EMP grenades crippled the Ion Core, turning it into nothing more than an inactive, green crystaline mass.
