ONI Altraxia
As the first fusion rockets made contact with the beasts and detonated, they proved to be highly effective, at least, relatively to the other weaponry, whilst the fusion rockets burnt chunks out of the beasts sending some of them back to the rift accompanied by telepathic screeching, the point defense cannons barely scratched their shell, serving as a distraction at best.
Actually melting down these beasts was alot harder than the Crymnant expected, although it´s weaponry did prove considerably more effective than that of the UEG, large holes were burnt into the shell and flesh of the beasts by its lasers, making it easier for the UEG fleet to finish off.
The missile volleys in return performed better than before, still not as effective as the UEG would likely want them to be, but at least they were working, whilst the first impacts formerly left nothing but scorchmarks, continued hits in combination with the damages the Crymnant had left dwindled the beasts down.
The beasts on the other hand, despite being under heavy fire, continued their tight circle around the fleet, firing at any ships they encountered, usually focusing on the most damaged once if several were in range.
Then, the opening volley of the reinforcement cruisers reached the beasts, covering them in a hail of explosions...
...another number of telepathic screams was heard, though moments later the remaining twenty-seven beasts emerged from the explosions, it seems they had now taken notice of the reinforcements, leaving their circle around the present fleet and relieving the pressure from them...
However, instead of disengaging, they were heading towards the newly arrived ships, in a vector that brought what remained of the patrol fleet between them and the Crymant.
