Ceyanne salutes the captain before bowing, an old custom in her small fleet which dates back who knows how long.

After the area is cleaned up, and Ceyanne and her fellow sailors are given space on a local station to stay a meeting regarding diplomacy is scheduled in the capital planet of the system. Sinclaire I. Escorting the ship, which some UNSC personal call the Last of the Vanguards is a couple of light corvettes which will take the Vanguards to the planet.

As the unknown fleet get closer to the intercepting fighters visuals are made and 4 fighters and 1 firgate are seen rapidly approaching

The Escort fighters move to protect the fleet while the last of the repairs are being made

Jared The large UEG interceptors move to engage the enemy fighters with a hard hitting attack. The fighters use their 120mm ventral guns combined with Javelin missile fire to take them out.

The Persion Sun arms its missile pods and targets the frigate. The missiles launch, sending trails of smoke plumes through space as the missiles rush towards the enemy frigate.

The enemy fighters respond by opening fire with their lasers, one of the fighters taking a hard hit from the javelin missiles after the cannons weakened it’s shields crippling it to engage in a kamikaze attack against the PS, the other fighters line up a run on the diplomatic cruiser and open fire with their central beam weapon.
The frigate responds to the PS by charging up its central beam weapon as its spinal laser turrets fire at any fighters that get in range, while it’s PD systems fend off against any encroaching missiles

The Longswords continue to harass the enemy fleet and fighters. The Persian Sun, uses its M8A turrets to engage the fighters. The automated turret fires off a burst of rounds at its target.

The corvettes missile batteries continued to fire, the smaller coilguns turn towards the enemy frigate to fire, targeting its rear engines.

It was an uneventful day back home in the ADL. Everyone knows things are going belly-up, but at least the pay is good for the bureaucrats and politicians. A diplomatic team, having been assembled over the course of a year because of the all-too-frequent assassinations and bribes, was seated aboard the Viper-Class carrier "ADLS Cobra", escorted by the two Y-Class frigates "ADLS Y-4" and "ADLS Y-19", is seeking to open up trade and industrial negotiations with the UEG. Alsinian Alloys, the company for which this diplomatic mission is being sent on the behalf of, had bought out the best diplomats available. Having heard reports of a splinter group calling themselves "Vanguard Fleet," the ADL was also hoping to retrieve those troublesome rebels.

One of the diplomats, one Va'ar Hal't, had sent a pre-written transmission to the UEG which read like this;

"On behalf of the Alsinan Defense League, we are seeking to open trade agreements between the United Earth Government and the Alsinan Defense League, for the benefit of both nations."

The ADL group is intercepted by the Strident II-Class Frigate Glittering Band to escort them to a meeting area. Taking them to the same place the Vanguards were or are to disembark and start conducting diplomacy.

They come deeper into the outskirts of UEG controlled space, revealing a network of stations around a large gas giant with a few small moons that seem to be Earth like in nature. Coming closer to one of the larger stations close to the gas giant, special tugs come to meet them to guide them into the docking area.

The docking areas umbilicals and clamps grab the ship carrying the diplomats, securing it firmly in place.

The frigate that escorted them to this area flys underneath the station they were just guided to before coming about and returning to an orbiting facility nearby presumably to refuel and continue its next operation.

The enemy frigate opens fire on the PS as a large laser bursts out the front, it’s spinal laser turrets turn their focus on the corvette that flanked it as it’s engines begin to get targeted.

the enemy fighter are able to shoot down two of the defending TCU fighters and crippling the third however are forced to break off due to the oncoming fire, one of the hostile fighters also taking critical damage.

the diplomatic cruiser and cargo ship charge up their FTL drives and aim for the nearest UEG system known to them

the hostile ships seeing there situations are worsening try to flee

Va'ar Hal't has been trying to corral the other 10 or so diplomats, seemingly content to twiddle their thumbs. The message for the Vanguards, under UEG protection, had been carefully worded over the course of a week. Filled with compromise after compromise, it reads as follows:

"We know where you originate from. We are the ADL, your home nation. We demand you lay down your arms and return to Cunicule. You will be greeted as heroes and your commander, Ceyanne, will be granted a position among the ADL's Galactic Navy. You will have 72 hours to respond."

A separate delegation is attempting to open trade agreements between the ADL, and indirectly Alsinian Alloys, coming to a similar internal stagnation as those attempting to bring the Vanguard Fleet back into the fold.

The UEG diplomats urge that the ADL keeps their promise regarding the Vanguard. However, they are happy to talk about trade agreements as quite recently ship building has hit an all time low due to costs and a market crash. The ADL materials would definitely come in handy.

Jared The laser impacts the port side of the Persian Sun causing the shields to deplete in that area. The corvette sets a course correction so its front is facing the enemy frigate. Charging its magnetic capacitors, the ship fires a MAC round at the frigate with lightning speed. The longswords after clearing the alley of enemy fighters begin an assault on the frigate hoping to enact serious damage to its engines.

The fighters are able to start up their warp drives and just escape with their lives, however the frigate talking heave damage receives critical damage shutting down their engines and their warp drive systems.

"We will gladly uphold our promise with the Vanguard Fleet. Release them at your earliest convenience, and we will duly return the Vanguards to their planet."

An agreement to sell raw materials to the UEG is being worked out, with compensation for Alsinian Alloys being the current topic of debate.

Va'ar Hal't says: "The absolute minimum that the ADL will accept on their goods is a 10 percent markup for the materials sold. The transit fees alone will increase the price at least by thirty percent, and this is required for our economy to grow."

”Thank you.” The UEG diplomats converse quietly about the cost of this deal. After a few moments of communicating, they come back and say it’s a deal.

Now both economies would prosper. However, there is one small issue. Defence. Defending transports shipping goods would be an issue as noted with the Vanguards, navy assets are father behind than the current gen III ships the UEG possesses. How will the ADL step up to protect vital shipping lanes?

Having expected the aging UEG fleet to relinquish the defense duties of the convoys, in a rare case of cooperation, the ADL delegation had sent an urgent message back home to drastically increase the construction of Y and O-Class Frigates. The recent construction of the first Cunicule-Class must be postponed, to much chagrin within the Planetary Congress and especially Alsinian Alloys, who are making most of the armor and armament. But, the orders for the Y and O-Classes are going through them anyways, so it's a minor annoyance at worst.

Va'ar, relieved from the ease of cooperation, sends this message: "We have recently increased the production of escort frigates 3-fold, that will cover your concerns."

Jared "Sir incoming transmission. It's from the enemy." "Patch it through Lieutenant" "Aye Sir, patching it thorugh."

The transmission plays through the bridges speakers. The captain waits a moment before giving an order. Ignoring the message as they are humans themselves he says: "Akita, fire the MAC." "Aye Aye sir, MAC firing solutions found. Fire on your command" "Send those bastards to Hades."

The bridge lights dim as the MAC gun is fired at the frigate. The vibrations under the rubberized floor of the bridge are felt underneath the crews feet.

As the incoming shots rip through the frigate escape pods are seen being ejected out, while the bridge is seen disconnecting itself from the rest of the ship, readings also show a critical spike in the reactor of the ship, as the escape pods fly out the frigates core is seen to glow bright white before explosive are seen all across the ship, the escape pods move towards the now detached bridge and dock to it, once docked they power up their emergency warp drives and flee

Back with the diplomatic fleet they send out their emergency broadcast and slowly move towards the closest UEG station

Dokkisse "thank you. Now lets get this deal signed and set in stone." The UEG would assign **Cutlass II Fast Attack Corvettes and a few smaller frigates, and a station acting as a middle point on the trade route to protect it.

Jared The prowler, finally moved in. Recording the ongoing battle this entire time it moves forward to examine the wreckage of the enemy frigate. Perhaps it will take samples of the debris as well.

The closest station is a medium sized civilian station used as a transfer point for cargo and people to load and unload orbiting a smaller sized planet.

A couple of light frigates come to greet the oncoming ships.

The wreckage seems to show signs that the explosion was in part controlled to ensure the ship could not be captured, or scavenged for anything of significant use.

The probe finds that this room must have been one of the ammo storages, as the room is scattered with shells and missile warheads. The submarine is not found, but a small (About 1m by 1m) spherical device is found.

ZendikaroftheWest The corvette scans the strange device for any potential threat signatures before taking it on board after it is deemed "clear".

They also scan the nearby shells and warheads, maybe they could be of some use for reasearch down the line. It takes them onboard as well once they are deemed "clear" too.
