There are no other lit up buttons on the control pannel that the young Alkari, as all the buttons that were lit up seem to have returned to gray after the storage button was chosen.
As the Commander dunks his hand onto the liquid-y metal, it envelops him and seeps through his skin, connecting directly to this mind. Counterintuively, it is not the commander that searches for what he wants, but rather, an automatic system searches what the commander came looking for.
After a few seconds, the Commander's arm is forcefully ejected from the console, which slots back into the ground seemlessly. Mechanical noises are hard, those of metal scraping eachother.
From one of the triangular shapes comes a large equilateral pyramid, floating towards the platform through unknown means. it stops on one of the sides of the triangular platform and matches its edge.
Its center rotates and opens up, and from within comes three perfect cubes, each 10x10x10 cm and made of a smooth black metal that reflects the light as though it's been polished. They float seemlessly through the air and land on a triangular configuration on pedestals set around the center control pannel, whcih emerged just before their landing.
The large triangular containment locks itself up again, and falls down into the abyss below in one fluid and increasingly fast motion, leaving the team with the cubes.
